The recommended specs list a GTX 760 or equivalent. I'm sure your 980 is more than enough to run the game at 4K DSR.

Tried it at 1440p with 30% smoothness and didn't really notice all that much difference in it killing jaggies, though 4k did kill quite a bit but I suffered some dips which I'm not all that fond of so I might go back to 2k and sail it out there until I suffer big dips with that with bigger battles.

With a bit of luck, some modders will make a patch to improve the graphics.

Ok so I managed to try 2k with Vsync on and at 36% Smoothness it did kill some jaggies though everything looked a bit too shiny with some more blur than I would have liked so I'm going to scale the smoothness down to 25%, I know this will intro jaggies but the blur can be a bit too much. Also tried their non fullscreen mode which even using a border windowless full screen mode program does not make the option a decent choice, with games like Star Wars Battlefront that give you a fully supported Full screen border windowless mode without any performance issues is a bonus for me but I guess with DD I have to stick with Vsync on full and full screen, at least until I get a G-sync monitor and try 4k then.

I do hope modders come up with some new textures because even though I am having fun with the game since the last time I tried it back in 2012, those "uncompressed" textures leave a lot to be desired, I feel it's the Japanese way of saying "we sharpened them that's all".

ALl in all it's definitely a good port but I feel some Japanese devs need to keep these little bits in mind for the future because I tell you it will go a long way, especially with me, I love having multiple AA options, FSBW mode and not having to use Vsync (better textures are always a nice thing to have).

Unrelated note: it appears I can finally play the new Homeworld thanks to Steam deciding us Brits can finally play a game that should have been playable since 12am, I really wish they would stop tying global release dates to US timezones because I honestly feel it's pointless in telling me X game is coming out the enxt day because in actuality it won't come out till my day is enarly over but the US day has either begun or is halfway through the day. Also annoying for those who have the day off work to play said game in the UK or non US that won't be able to play it and have a good chunk of their day ruiend because of that rule.

All I can say to this is "fuck you" WB and NR.

Not going to be supporting either in the future until they own up to making this mess and getting their shit into gear. No other publisher has fucked up this badly and decided to phase out PC, not at this point in time anyway. At least when ubisoft fucks up they eventually admit and try to fix their mess but it seems WB have got balls to just wash their hands of their own mess entirely, what a childish decision to make.

OBSIDIAN'S FENSTERMAKER: "I'M ALWAYS UP FOR WORKING ON A FALLOUT"

http://www.pcgamer.com/obsidians-fenstermaker-im-always-up-for-working-on-a-fallout/

I was a little down on Fallout 4, not because it's a bad game but because it's not a roleplay game anymore, at least, not if you want to roleplay anyone other than sarcastic guy, wide-eyed softy or unprovoked dickhead. Obsidian's Fallout: New Vegas beefed up Fallout 3's weaker RPG systems to the delight of many, and designer Eric Fenstermaker has revealed that the team would like to do it all again.

>>What do you think, Fallout fans, would you like another Fallout by Obsidian?

I really hope Obsidian gets a chance at fixing Fallout (again) - FO4 is not a bad game per se, but it's a terrible, terrible Fallout.

Fallout 4 is more shooter than RPG, right? At least that's what I've heard.

It's FPS-RPG...but you'll spend most of the time shooting stuff (mostly Raiders) with standard FPS mechanisms that are not influenced very much by (non-existing) skills. Other aspects of RPG are terribly watered down and while it still has some things that keeps it away (so far) from ending up in the same basket with the likes of FarCry 3/4, it's far from proper RPGs that FO1/2 were or even botched attempt that FO3 was.

It's not unfun game to play, especially if you accept that it's not actually proper Fallout, but if you're long time fan chances are you'll be dissapointed in direction Bethesda is heading with it.

For comparison, as I'm not a FallOut fan, FO 4 is like Mass Effect 2 or worse?

I'd say they're about the same, if you're asking for ME1 to ME2 and FO3 to FO4 dumbing down factor (though, as I said, as a fan, even FO3 was dumbed down version of FO1/2). Considering you're not a fan, chances are you'll enjoy it, if you don't expect actual RPG...I don't find it to be terrible game per se, it's just not very good RPG and quite terrible Fallout.

Ultimately, don't listen to me too much on the matter - I hated when Bethesda got Fallout IP from Interplay, plus it's no secret that I don't like their games that much, apart from Morrowind of course.

I was talking about the Action vs RPG elements of ME 2 that turned it more into a shooter than an RPG.

And don't worry, we all have our opinion and different points of view. But it would help if someone else who played the game talks about it.
