I posted an update with a vid to that XCOM 2 character footage and no one replied lol

*cries inside*

I didn't saw it, sorry.

I always have this problem with threads that aren't on my buddy. The threads listed on "My Topics" always list one new post less than reality, which means that a thread with a single new post shows as 0 new replies.

It's weird but it has been happening to me since like forever, and no browser or hardware update has changed that.

Wait whut, there is some sort of thread "fave" list on this site?.

oooh you're not on about that thing to the elft are you?, the small box lol. That updates too much for me too often that I hardly bother with it and only do so when someone quotes me.

I do wish VGC had some syste where my friends threads could be highlighted in a different colour or let me know when friends make replies to some threads.

That could work for some people, but for some others it would be a nightmare. Imagine if you're friend of AbbathTheGrim.

Time for some Hardware Rumors

This time it's two (actually about 1.5) about AMD and two about Nvidia.

*AMD*

Rumor 1: AMD have begun shipping Polaris GPUs - 2 different Polaris chips and 4 different GPUs found

http://www.overclock.net/t/1587294/zauba-amd-have-begun-shipping-polaris-gpus-2-different-polaris-chips-and-4-different-gpus-found

and

http://videocardz.com/58101/nvidia-gp104-and-first-polaris-gpu-supposedly-spotted-on-zauba

"AMD have begun shipping Polaris GPUs from the foundries. Based on the information from Zauba, it seems to be two different Polaris chips/families, each with 2 different SKUs/GPUs. Total of 4 new Polaris GPUs. The one with the biggest value is the full Polaris while the other one is the same Polaris GPU but with some shaders/cores disabled."

Polaris chip #1:
GPU #1: Board number: C981
This one is the full chip

GPU #2: Board number: C980.
Based on the value and the board number I would guess that this one is the same as above but have some shaders/cores disabled. Like Fury X and Fury.

Polaris chip #2:
GPU #3: Board number: C924
Full chip

GPU #4: Board number: C913
Disabled shaders/cores

And for comparison, this is what Fury X cost at launch and how much the 290X a little after launch (the value is the last number)

>>My personal Opinion: I can believe it.

Rumor 2: The enthusiast version of AMD's next-gen Polaris spotted at CES 2016

http://www.tweaktown.com/news/49581/enthusiast-version-amds-next-gen-polaris-spotted-ces-2016/index.html

"During our CES 2016 travels, we spotted a big GPU - the big version of Polaris. Not the 1080p 60FPS version that the company showed off in Sonoma at its RTG Technology Summit, but the enthusiast version of Polaris."

>>My personal Opinion: Nope, I don't believe it.

*NVIDIA*

Rumor1: NVIDIA GP104, smaller die, more pins

http://videocardz.com/58101/nvidia-gp104-and-first-polaris-gpu-supposedly-spotted-on-zauba

"Let’s start with GP104, the GM204 successor, based on Pascal architecture. We are probably looking at first high-end GPU from upcoming 1000 series (the name has not been confirmed). Same as with Kepler and Maxwell, we don’t expect the ‘Big Pascal’ to be released anytime soon. Instead much smaller GPU, that should theoretically be faster than both GTX 980 Ti and TITAN X is expected in the coming months."

"According to 3DCenter the GP104 comes in a 37.5×37.5mm BGA package, which is smaller than GM204’s 40x40mm. What’s worth noting is that the listing from Zauba revealed is has more pins (2152), than GM204 (1745). This could be related to much denser architecture based on smaller fabrication node."

>>My personal opinion: Yep, I believe it, at least most of it... because a TEC? And a 650W one! Going with water is one thing, but with a TEC would be quite surprising.

Rumor2: Nvidia Pascal over a year ahead of 14/16nm competition

https://semiaccurate.com/2016/01/11/nvidia-pascal-over-a-year-ahead-of-1416nm-competition/

"Nvidia is more than a year ahead of any competition in the mobile space as their Pascal based Drive PX 2 module proved. Held up by no less than CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, SemiAccurate felt it was an automotive tour de force.

...

Getting back to their lead, Nvidia is so far ahead of the industry it is, well, nigh on incredible. Until the CES unveiling, AMD was widely believed to be 2+ quarters ahead of Nvidia on the process front, their 14nm Polaris GPUs had all the mindshare. On Monday January 4th, 2016, Nvidia showed undeniable proof that they were more than a year ahead of AMD in the race to 14/16nm devices. Not only that they were ahead of assumed leaders Apple and Samsung to devices on this node, way way ahead."

>>My personal opinion: Coming from Semiaccurate and Charlie, it's quite obvious that this is a sarcastic article about a worrying rumor going around, that the Drive PX2 device showed at CES with two Pascal GPUs is fake and used current Maxwell chips.

I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is true, it wouldn't be the first time Nvidia does something like this.

UBISOFT’S FOR HONOR WILL HAVE A SINGLE-PLAYER MODE

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/ubisofts-for-honor-will-have-a-single-player-mode/

For Honor seems like a really interesting new title that is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal. However, it appears that some players thought that this would a MP-only title. Well, that won’t be the case as Stephane Cardin, producer of For Honor, has confirmed that this new upcoming fast-paced, competitive game will feature a full single player mode.

TOM CLANCY’S THE DIVISION – NEW TRAILER LEAKED ONLINE

http://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/tom-clancys-the-division-new-trailer-leaked-online/

Man, The Division seems to be the victim of the most leaks we’ve ever seen for a triple-A title. While Ubisoft will reveal more information about its beta plans in the coming days, a new trailer was leaked online a couple of minutes ago. This trailer is based on the latest build and its in Italian (so most probably you won’t understand anything at all).

THE DIVISION'S NEW SITE WILL TELL YOU IF SOMEONE PEED ON YOUR MONEY

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-divisions-new-site-will-tell-you-if-someone-peed-on-your-money/

The Division is an open-world third-person shooter set in the aftermath of a devastating pandemic that has left the United States, and I would assume the rest of the world, utterly devastated. The disease, as it turns out, was spread by infected currency—a “cash contagion,” you might call it. In fact, that's exactly what Ubisoft calls it in a newly-launched promotional website that purports to tell you where your money came from, where it's been, and how many people have peed on it along the way.

THE STEAM WINTER SALE WAS A BIG SUCCESS, EVEN WITHOUT FLASH SALES

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-steam-winter-sale-was-a-big-success-even-without-flash-sales/

The Steam Winter Sale wrapped up last week, and it was apparently a good one for all involved. Steam Spy estimates that the sale brought in “at least” $270 million in revenue, which is nearly double the amount rung up during the most recent Steam Summer Sale. Note that those figures are estimates based on incomplete data and, as site founder Sergey Galyonkin acknowledged on Medium, therefore “not 100 percent accurate.” But in a recap message posted in the private Steamworks group that somehow ended up on the SteamVR page, and from there to SteamDB (and has been verified by a developer who saw the original), Valve itself said that Winter Sale revenues were up significantly.

>>We can say goodbye to flash sales, then.

EPIC MISTAKENLY BLOCKS MAN WITH NAME ON US WATCHLIST

http://www.pcgamer.com/epic-mistakenly-blocks-man-with-name-on-us-watchlist/

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney has apologised to Muhammad Zakir Khan over Twitter after Khan was prevented from making an Epic account due to a hit against a US Treasury list of Specially Designated Nationals. The SDN list is a register of people and companies that US 'persons' (an exhausting legal umbrella term) are prohibited from dealing with, potentially due to involvement in terrorist financing, trafficking or money laundering, but also as part of US sanctions campaigns against specific countries. Or, in this case, people who want to play the Paragon beta.

BUS SIMULATOR 16 DELAYED

http://www.pcgamer.com/bus-simulator-16-delayed/

Bloody typical. Bus Simulator 16 is delayed, flaunting its credentials as number one public transport simulator. It's one drivers' strike and a man-spreader away from reality. Scheduled to arrive January 20, it will pull into the station March 2 instead.

Today is one of those days where I feel like I need to take a break from the site, I dunno I;m just annoyed at people on here who clearly have and show brand loyalty and stick to it to the death to see others fail. I was trying to talk reason about TO 1886 and how some were claiming it's the best on any platform in an objective manner, meanwhile I'm seeing different with Star Citizen and Kingdom Come Deliverance, problem is some are already trying to move goal posts to make sure PC somehow cannot have a really amazing looking game but only PS4, that logic just serves to agitate and irk me because it tells me that some are willing to overlook all the progress Sony shows you but they will gladly ignore any and all progress you see from the devs behind the two games I mentioned, especially with "they are incomplete" reasons despite plenty of games being shown to us a year or two in advance that aren't even bloody complete either.

Foolishness tends to get the better of me I'll totally admit that, I just wish some people would take off the cloak and just see reason than loyalty. I remember being just like that years ago, I was one of those that talked against PC gaming and all that it held despite me playing C&C all those years and other games but now I've gotten older I can actually step back and see for myself what's what.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Oh man To the Moon was one of those unique gems that made you cry, especially the theme:

Yep - have you played the side story : "A Bird Story" as well?

Oh no I didn't play it much XD, I ended up coming accross Markiplier back in 2014 and decided to watch his LP of the title along with getting the same mix of feels he got.

(Forgot to throw that in, my bad).

Oooh lol

Yeah I got both games from a humble bundle.

To The Moon was great - I played it back in 2014 - played the holiday edition expansion (which I didnt know until early last year) and A Bird Story last year which is a tie in between To The Moon and this new sequel.

A Bird Story...wasnt really that great - there was no narration whatsoever and the story was okay but not as dramatic or sad as To The Moon.

The part I like about the game is the "what ifs" and it does make me think on the what ifs in reality, though I really shouldn't dwell on those XP.
