Basil, maybe you should start using sites to help pick up parts? Like PCpartpicker.com or this other one I found, PCHound.com

Wow, I wasn't aware of PCHound, that Hound-O-Matic auto-build tool is amazing if you know what you're doing and set some filters in accordance to what you would like to get out of it.

Great find.

Aye I gotta check this out later on and see what I can whip up, if it works out the way I think it will I'll definitely be using this in combination with PCPP.

It's a great tool, everything is customizable, and everything can be locked or additionaly picked/replaced manually with the same plethora of filter options (not only part specs, but merchants as well).

Only thing (so far) I find PCPP does better is somewhat more detailed specs on parts (for example RAM speeds on MBs, or CFM for fans).

I kinda want to post a thread on PC gaming is still growing after watching Mush's video but I dunno if I can, I'll think about maybe making a thread like that after Xmas because I'm really not up for days on end worth of debates on why it's not growing or why it's doomed (lets face it those are the two types of counter arguments being made on here anyway).

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/tekken-series-director-producer-katsuhiro-harada-is-reading-requests-for-pc-version-of-tekken-7/

While Bandai Namco has not confirmed yet a PC version for Tekken 7, Katsuhiro Harada tweeted a couple of days ago that he’s reading the requests for such a version. And even though nothing is confirmed yet, we’re pretty sure that this fighting game will, some day, find its way on our platform.

HIDEO KOJIMA FORMS NEW STUDIO, FIRST TITLE WILL HIT THE PC AFTER ITS PS4 RELEASE

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/hideo-kojima-forms-new-studio-first-title-will-hit-the-pc-after-its-ps4-release/

Yesterday, Hideo Kojima announced the form of a new studio. Kojima Productions is again a thing, and according to its official FAQ, it’s currently working on a new title that will come first on PS4. And yes, the game will be released on the PC after its console release.

>>I'm sure you have already seen some of the threads about this, but I'll still post one http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=211383

By the way, between this, the Tekken 7 news and the other many games that are on the same situation, can this gen be the "PS4+PC" gen? Or, if we look at the XboxOne exclusives, the "console exclusive+PC" gen? Because I swear that the number of games that are truly exclusive is rather low.

VALVE ROLLS BACK CS:GO RIFLE AND PISTOL CHANGES

http://www.pcgamer.com/valve-rolls-back-csgo-rifle-and-pistol-changes/

It has not been a strong few weeks for the CS:GO dev team. I reported on Friday that the Winter Update's maligned R8 revolver had been nerfed after only three days—obscene stopping power and pinpoint accuracy for its price had effectively killed eco rounds. Now, Valve has rolled back the accompanying tweaks to pistols and rifles, stating "we likely changed too much too quickly".

DOTA 2 'BALANCE OF POWER' UPDATE BRINGS NEW HERO, ITEMS AND MORE

http://www.pcgamer.com/dota-2-balance-of-power-update-brings-new-hero-items-and-more/

Valve has finally detailed update 6.86 for Dota 2, following reported leaks earlier this week. Dubbed 'The Balance of Power' update, it ushers in the Arc Warden, a hero you might remember from the original Dota. He's finally made the jump to Dota 2, and as the image above demonstrates, he wields energy in a variety of ways: he can build energy barriers for defence, and even summon duplicates to help out on the field.

RAINBOW SIX: SIEGE PATCH BRINGS "ULTRA HD" TEXTURES AND GRIEF FOR TEAM KILLERS

http://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-patch-brings-ultra-hd-textures-and-grief-for-team-killers/

The first Rainbow Six: Siege patch is set to release tomorrow, and it's a big one. Virtually all of the community's gripes, both major and minor, will be addressed, but it'll also coincide with the release of a Ultra-HD texture pack for players with capable rigs. This free DLC pack is designed for 4K players, but can be used at 1080p or 1440p by those with at least 4GB in their GPU.

HEROES OF THE STORM MATCHMAKING CHANGES ARE NOW LIVE

http://www.pcgamer.com/heroes-of-the-storm-matchmaking-changes-are-now-live/

Blizzard announced during its "State of the Game" BlizzCon panel in November that Heroes of the Storm would be getting a new matchmaking system before the end of the year. Where the original system, based on the one used by StarCraft 2, focused on speed rather than match quality, the new way of doing things reverses those priorities, which Blizzard said should lead to a more consistent rate of "quality" matches.

BALDUR'S GATE: SIEGE OF DRAGONSPEAR DATED FOR EARLY 2016

http://www.pcgamer.com/baldurs-gate-siege-of-dragonspear-dated-for-early-2016/

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, the Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition expansion that was announced in the summer, is set to come out in early 2016. The launch window was revealed in a Dragon+ interview with Beamdog boss Trent Oster, in which he also explained that it was originally envisioned as just a small, inexpensive piece of DLC that was intended to be released ahead of Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition.

JACK THE RIPPER CUTS SOME MOVES IN NEW AC: SYNDICATE VR TRAILER

http://www.pcgamer.com/jack-the-ripper-cuts-some-moves-in-new-ac-syndicate-vr-trailer/

The new Assassin's Creed Syndicate: Jack the Ripper DLC trailer doesn't really tell us anything that we didn't learn from last week's story trailer: Jack has better moves than rank-and-file Assassin flunkies, and a serious mad on for Evie Frye. But it's cool stuff nonetheless, because it's a "VR trailer," with full support for 360-degree viewing through the Samsung Gear.

KINGDOM COME: DELIVERANCE SALLYING INTO BETA SOON

http://www.pcgamer.com/kingdom-come-deliverance-sallying-into-beta-soon/

Since Warhorse's Kickstarter pledged a realistic, Middle Ages RPG with period combat in January 2014, the team have been slaving to build the framework that will support all that praying and dying in childbirth. According to the latest update video, this will be finished by the end of the year. Beginning early in 2016, Kingdom Come: Deliverance will move into beta.

RUNESCAPE IS TURNING 15, GETS UPDATES TO CELEBRATE

http://www.pcgamer.com/runescape-is-turning-15-gets-updates-to-celebrate/

Runescape is older than I was when I got sucked into its grinding, low-res innards. Those were the days—polygons the size of your fist and hours lost yelling about rune kite shields by Falador bank. As I understand it, things are prettier these days and there is a sky, in addition to modern MMO trappings like raids. I don't know where these crazy kids get their ideas, but Runescape's staying power is undeniable: it turns 15 next year and a raft of updates has been announced to celebrate.

This isnt right imo. You shouldnt have to feel like you cant make a perfectly valid thread here without having to worry about a bunch of console guys coming in and ruining it when they shouldnt even be in the PC section anyways if they have no interest in the platform.

Like they can make threads like PS4 selling so fast, or PS4 growing at a high rate etc. We do the same and they accuse us of trying to start flame wars O_o .

Id post it if i was you. If not ill post it if you want?.

Yeah by all means do, I;m losing my faith on here anyway after reading a few recent posts. Doesn't seem to matter what we do or say on this site nayway, we're either playing the victim all the time on purpose or we're eltist salty cunts while non PC gamers are absolute saints, I knew there was a reason why I took a short hiatus.

If you're going to make a thread I;d probably find a few more links, vids or graphcs to better represent the growth of the platform, though I still feel as good of a subject it is to openly talk about, I know it will get shot down or downplayed with the susual folk who don't give a shit coming in and going with "stop hitting yourself, stop playing the victim!".

Yeah after watching the content of the video id say quite a few would take issue with the "Consoles a weak" part even if it is true.

I mean what he says is perfectly valid his not lying. What did people really think they where going to get for 400??. Fact is the console makers went cheap this gen and the fans should just accept that instead of taking issue with it.

Anyway i think to make a thread like this as you say maybe some more videos would be needed and a warning that this is not a "Console VS PC thread", and its not for people to take issue with the "consoles are weak" part and that that should not be the focus of the thread. Its about why the PC market is growing.

Thats the thing though, they will more than likely take issue with what he said despite it being valid and true, even I mean no personal disrespect but at the end of the day MS/SOny and Nintendo all had to cut corners and they have done for some time but besides that PC is growing in terms of hardware and general technologies, each gen the gap grows and grows and yet we can't point that out without getting berated (and yet they point this out with their console wars and sales).

At the end of the day you get what you paid for and that's something that has to be accepted.

Really we could just make a thread that just talks about PC gaming and growth without trying to mention consoles but the issue with that is when someone deos decide to mention consoles then of course the subject matter is going to shift, we'll likely get involved and then the thread kills itself, that TB thread is a rgeat example of the whole "us vs them" because the other group decided to make it personal while claiming they aren't, this just goes to show that some of us on here aren't going to understand each other let alone being more open.

Ah good ol' Speccy, that was my first encounter with computers, 1982 as well, my friend got it and we used to hang out at his house all the time...I remember The Hobbit graphic adventure game that came out that same year, you know that old ones with a text parser...few of us were Tolkien fans and we played it extensively, it hooked me to adventure genre which is still my favorite.

My parents got me C64 next year (or was it year after that one, can't remember), and while I still played ZX occasionally at my friends, it was really painful after 'glorious' C64 visuals...people think console wars are bad, boy, they have no idea.
