The news, part 2:

VALVE ROLLS BACK CS:GO RIFLE AND PISTOL CHANGES

http://www.pcgamer.com/valve-rolls-back-csgo-rifle-and-pistol-changes/

It has not been a strong few weeks for the CS:GO dev team. I reported on Friday that the Winter Update's maligned R8 revolver had been nerfed after only three days—obscene stopping power and pinpoint accuracy for its price had effectively killed eco rounds. Now, Valve has rolled back the accompanying tweaks to pistols and rifles, stating "we likely changed too much too quickly".

DOTA 2 'BALANCE OF POWER' UPDATE BRINGS NEW HERO, ITEMS AND MORE

Valve has finally detailed update 6.86 for Dota 2, following reported leaks earlier this week. Dubbed 'The Balance of Power' update, it ushers in the Arc Warden, a hero you might remember from the original Dota. He's finally made the jump to Dota 2, and as the image above demonstrates, he wields energy in a variety of ways: he can build energy barriers for defence, and even summon duplicates to help out on the field.

RAINBOW SIX: SIEGE PATCH BRINGS "ULTRA HD" TEXTURES AND GRIEF FOR TEAM KILLERS

The first Rainbow Six: Siege patch is set to release tomorrow, and it's a big one. Virtually all of the community's gripes, both major and minor, will be addressed, but it'll also coincide with the release of a Ultra-HD texture pack for players with capable rigs. This free DLC pack is designed for 4K players, but can be used at 1080p or 1440p by those with at least 4GB in their GPU.

HEROES OF THE STORM MATCHMAKING CHANGES ARE NOW LIVE

http://www.pcgamer.com/heroes-of-the-storm-matchmaking-changes-are-now-live/

Blizzard announced during its "State of the Game" BlizzCon panel in November that Heroes of the Storm would be getting a new matchmaking system before the end of the year. Where the original system, based on the one used by StarCraft 2, focused on speed rather than match quality, the new way of doing things reverses those priorities, which Blizzard said should lead to a more consistent rate of "quality" matches.

BALDUR'S GATE: SIEGE OF DRAGONSPEAR DATED FOR EARLY 2016

http://www.pcgamer.com/baldurs-gate-siege-of-dragonspear-dated-for-early-2016/

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, the Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition expansion that was announced in the summer, is set to come out in early 2016. The launch window was revealed in a Dragon+ interview with Beamdog boss Trent Oster, in which he also explained that it was originally envisioned as just a small, inexpensive piece of DLC that was intended to be released ahead of Baldur's Gate 2 Enhanced Edition.

JACK THE RIPPER CUTS SOME MOVES IN NEW AC: SYNDICATE VR TRAILER

The new Assassin's Creed Syndicate: Jack the Ripper DLC trailer doesn't really tell us anything that we didn't learn from last week's story trailer: Jack has better moves than rank-and-file Assassin flunkies, and a serious mad on for Evie Frye. But it's cool stuff nonetheless, because it's a "VR trailer," with full support for 360-degree viewing through the Samsung Gear.

KINGDOM COME: DELIVERANCE SALLYING INTO BETA SOON

http://www.pcgamer.com/kingdom-come-deliverance-sallying-into-beta-soon/

Since Warhorse's Kickstarter pledged a realistic, Middle Ages RPG with period combat in January 2014, the team have been slaving to build the framework that will support all that praying and dying in childbirth. According to the latest update video, this will be finished by the end of the year. Beginning early in 2016, Kingdom Come: Deliverance will move into beta.

RUNESCAPE IS TURNING 15, GETS UPDATES TO CELEBRATE

http://www.pcgamer.com/runescape-is-turning-15-gets-updates-to-celebrate/

Runescape is older than I was when I got sucked into its grinding, low-res innards. Those were the days—polygons the size of your fist and hours lost yelling about rune kite shields by Falador bank. As I understand it, things are prettier these days and there is a sky, in addition to modern MMO trappings like raids. I don't know where these crazy kids get their ideas, but Runescape's staying power is undeniable: it turns 15 next year and a raft of updates has been announced to celebrate.
