I still cant believe they forced the player to choose that.
They should have pushed these three as the next gen face of Gears.

You can now download a free DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mod for Starfield
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/you-can-now-download-a-free-dlss-3-frame-generation-mod-for-starfield/
And the time has finally come. Modder ‘LukeFZ’ has just released a completely free DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mod for Starfield. Yes, you read that right. Contrary to PureDark’s DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mod (which also has a DRM system), this one is completely free to everyone.
For those wondering, LukeFZ is the man behind Starfield FSR2 Bridge. Starfield FSR2 Bridge was another mod for Starfield that added support for DLSS 2 and XeSS. Compared to PureDark’s mods, LukeFZ’s mods do not rely on Reshade. And, to be honest, I preferred LukeFZ’s DLSS 2 Mod over PureDark’s mod.
Now the bad news regarding this free DLSS 3 Frame Generation Mod is that it does not feature any in-game menu. Instead, RTX 40 series owners will have to edit the config.json file in the game directory. In a way, this will give you better control. However, you can’t make any DLSS 3 adjustments on the fly. Thus, it will be a pain in the a*s to benchmark native resolution, DLSS 2 and DLSS 3.

Metro Exodus gets a new fully open-world custom level to explore
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/metro-exodus-gets-a-new-fully-open-world-custom-level-to-explore/
Modder ‘ADRUNKEWOK’ has released a new modded/custom level for Metro Exodus that is fully open world to explore. According to the modder, this took months of work and learning the SDK from the ground up, to achieve what would feel like a new metro exodus level.
This first version of this custom level simply lets you explore it. In future versions, ADRUNKEWOK plans to add various points of interest and activities. And perhaps we might see some quests to keep things interesting.

Starfield gets the mod of mods, the granddaddy of them all: script extender
https://www.pcgamer.com/starfield-gets-the-mod-of-mods-the-granddaddy-of-them-all-script-extender/
Starfield has only been out in the wild a few days, but now it has the one mod to rule them all: the Starfield Script Extender (SFSE). The mod is the creation of Ian Patterson and Stephen Abel, who clearly spent this past weekend tinkering away while everyone else was exploring space, and this will be the foundation for most if not all of the more ambitious mods Starfield will receive.
The SFSE is a tool that adds additional scripting capabilities and functionality to the game, which basically means it gives modders a whole lot more to play with. If you've any intention of playing Starfield modded then this is almost the starting gun for the real work to begin (though the modders are already working fast, and here are the best Starfield mods so far). Scripts offer functionality that isn't normally available through the in-game tools, and goes beyond Bethesda's own scripting to allow for more complexity.

Drunk with power, modders have started putting Armored Cores in Elden Ring
https://www.pcgamer.com/drunk-with-power-modders-have-started-putting-armored-cores-in-elden-ring/
As much as I've enjoyed Elden Ring, I've always thought the Lands Between don't have enough giant robots stomping around—unless you count the Wandering Mausoleums, but that's a philosophical debate for another time. Luckily, that's a problem we might someday see solved thanks to modders like Zullie the Witch, a prolific Souls dataminer whose most recent work involves dropping a dang Armored Core into Elden Ring. Before you get too excited: No, it's not pilotable. Actually, it can't even move, but let's give modders time to cook. Mechs need to take baby steps, too.

Massive Baldur's Gate 3 mod adds playable kobolds, minotaurs, FF14 races, and D&D's rage-inducing kenders
https://www.pcgamer.com/massive-baldurs-gate-3-mod-adds-playable-kobolds-minotaurs-ff14-races-and-dandds-rage-inducing-kenders/
The initial choice of races in Baldur's Gate 3 is solid—though it's definitely not the full spread available for most Dungeons & Dragons players. You can't rock up as a warforged, goblin, kobold, or aarakocra (don't mention their in-built flight speed to tabletop players, it's a whole thing)—aside from Dragonborn, it's all very humanoid. (...) If you want more aesthetic variety, though, the absolutely massive 54 races included in DungeonsAndSouls' Fantastical Multiverse mod have you covered. The pack adds a whole swathe of options from official D&D material, Grim Hollow (a grimdark 5e-compatible setting made by Ghostfire Gaming), the creator's own homebrew "Malipāla", and Final Fantasy 14. I was briefly pumped about being able to play a catboy in Baldur's Gate 3—unfortunately, the mod's current races are all understandably humanoid (Hyur, Elezen, Roegadyn, and Garlean), so you won't be able to wield any nyacromancy just yet.

True to FromSoftware's creative vision, Armored Core 6 now has a mech that's CJ riding Thomas the Tank Engine
https://www.pcgamer.com/true-to-fromsoftwares-creative-vision-armored-core-6-now-has-a-mech-thats-cj-riding-thomas-the-tank-engine/
It took modders less than a day to add CJ from San Andreas to Armored Core 6, and the meme train just keeps rolling down the tracks: I present to you CJ and Thomas the Tank Engine. Together at last. Wait… Yes it is a rather unfortunate confluence of body positions and overall deeply, deeply cursed, but I think we'll leave it there.
The obvious next step is for Thomas' chassis to have a Shrek plushie hanging somewhere. The Thomas the Tank Engine mod replaces the EL-TL-11 FORTALEZA legs with the beloved childrens' train, and is the creation of ScrubMilk, whose previous greatest hits include making Elden Ring's Torrent into a Minecraft horse. Which is a neat segue into the fact that, drunk with power, modders have also started putting Armored Cores into Elden Ring. Dizzy yet? This is getting like Fortnite.
The Thomas the Tank Engine in Armored Core 6 can be slightly customised via the part colours, which is set to white but you can fiddle with the weathering and glossiness, "though I myself have it set to no battle-wear or gloss" declares ScrubMilk. Quite right too, no-one likes a dirty engine.
Combine it with the existing CJ mod, as redditor Sine_Fine_Belli did, and greatness awaits.

Rockstar just proved how important piracy is for game preservation
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/rockstar-just-proved-how-important-piracy-is-for-game-preservation/
We’ve all seen developers and publishers criticizing PC gamers for pirating their games. We’ve also seen a lot of publishers doing their best to fight piracy by implementing draconian DRM protection systems in their games. But can you imagine a company downloading and then selling a pirated/cracked game? Because that’s exactly what Rockstar did.
Discovered by modder ‘Silent’, the Steam version of Midnight Club 2 is actually the version that the scene group “Razor 1911” cracked back in 2003. Let me repeat that. Rockstar was selling on Steam a cracked copy of its game.
>> As the article notes, this is the third time Rockstar has done this.

President of Blizzard Mike Ybarra casually sinks hopes of a pirate themed WoW expansion with a two-word tweet
https://www.pcgamer.com/president-of-blizzard-mike-ybarra-casually-sinks-hopes-of-a-pirate-themed-wow-expansion-with-a-two-word-tweet/
There's been whispers on the high seas about where World of Warcraft's going after Dragonflight—with some theorists already loading up their cannons with hopes for a seafaring-themed expansion.
(...)
A battle on the high seas against WoW's saltiest crew sounds like a good time—and with the store foreshadowing, some gamers had been genuinely getting excited. Rather than let the rumour mill spin, however, President of Blizzard Mike Ybarra appears to have shot those dreams dead with a reply to a post on Twitter/X, as spotted by WoWHead.
Neglect Gale for too long in Baldur's Gate 3, and you'll receive gaming's saddest resignation letter
https://www.pcgamer.com/neglect-gale-for-too-long-in-baldurs-gate-3-and-youll-receive-gamings-saddest-resignation-letter/
The Gale slander's been strong. Despite a respectable middle-of-the-pack ranking in our super scientific list, he's still come under fire for a number of reasons. He eats all your magic items, he's too thirsty, he can't Eldritch Blast, he's not 7ft tall and a flaming hot demon wife—the list goes on.
If you're in the Gale-hating crew, this very sad resignation letter might either confirm your decision to sack him in your party's camp, or make you feel a touch of empathy for the poor guy. Turns out if you just ignore him for long enough, he writes you a strongly worded letter and vanishes into the night, as spotted by Reddit user Mookie_Merkk.
There's an invincibility exploit in Diablo 4's PvP zones
https://www.pcgamer.com/theres-an-invincibility-exploit-in-diablo-4s-pvp-zones/
Diablo 4 players are reporting a bug (via GamesRadar) that enables characters to become invincible inside player versus player zones, ignoring all damage from both monsters and other players. While PvP isn't the dominant way to play Diablo 4, for those who enjoy it, this is about as frustrating as bugs get.
The Last Exterminator calls on the obvious person to fight an alien cockroach invasion
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-last-exterminator-calls-on-the-obvious-person-to-fight-an-alien-cockroach-invasion/
I'm a sucker for the concept where you get someone who's good at a specific task to do a technically-related but wildly different thing and they're hyper-competent at it. For example, who would you call if an invasion of alien cockroaches came swarming down from the skies to end humanity? Obviously you'd call the exterminator, says Ironworks Games, Australia-based developers of The Last Exterminator.
>> The resemblance with Duke Nukem is obvious.
Check out the demo for this slimy survival horror and its reckless disregard for the rules of game point-of-view
https://www.pcgamer.com/check-out-the-demo-for-this-slimy-survival-horror-and-its-reckless-disregard-for-the-rules-of-game-point-of-view/
Back in early July Holstin grabbed us desperately by the lapels and vomited horrible slime into our faces with this delightful sequence of combat concept that's not quite anything we've seen in survival horror or isometric action before, a smooth transition from an isometric to over-the-shoulder third person shooting.
You can now play an updated demo for Holstin that features just this combat, and for me at least it's working just as advertised. It's not as smooth as I'd like but it really delivers the promised experience on mouse and keyboard. (I've seen some people in the Steam discussions saying it's a bit hard to use on a controller at the moment, which is just the kind of thing that can get tweaked after a demo like this.)
This Contra-like is a celebration of spread guns and gnarly flesh
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-contra-like-is-a-celebration-of-spread-guns-and-gnarly-flesh/
I never spent much time with Contra growing up, so I thought of it as a game about one-to-two burly gunmen doing elaborate somersault routines as they run sideways and shoot the kinds of faceless bad guys that other Rambo types tend to shoot at. Maybe the difficulty was a little too impenetrable—the Konami code exists for a reason, after all. Point is: I was surprised to learn that it turns into a body horror nightmare where our beefcake heroes end up in a labyrinth of mutated, alien flesh. Where Contra burns a little more slowly on the flesh terror, upcoming spiritual successor Iron Meat isn't wasting any time. It's flesh all the way down.
Item description reveals Starfield as a dark future without Labrador retrievers
https://www.pcgamer.com/item-description-reveals-starfield-as-a-dark-future-without-labrador-retrievers/
Science fiction is a genre that loves to imagine fun, new vectors for human misery. Maybe we'll end up in a future where alien embryos might erupt from our chest cavities. Maybe an evil sorcerer with a big space gun will start blowing up planets. If Warhammer 40,000 is any metric, we've got about 39 millennia before there is literally only war. And yet, somehow, Bethesda has created a future even more terrible: In Starfield, humanity's lost a lot of its very good boys.
>> Sounds like the perfect job for a crazy modder: to add a mission (or missions) to bring back dogs to life.
Starfield bug means you can just stroll up and take one of the best spacesuits right at the start of the game with no skill or repercussions
https://www.pcgamer.com/starfield-bug-means-you-can-just-stroll-up-and-take-one-of-the-best-spacesuits-right-at-the-start-of-the-game-with-no-skill-or-repercussions/
Starfield poses many threats to the willing space adventurer, from hostile Spacer pirates to alien beasts to extreme planetary environments, so the importance of a good spacesuit cannot be overstated.
Now you could buy a basic suit and upgrade it, or slowly find spacesuits with better specs as you play. Both are perfectly fine options.
Or, you know, thanks to a Bethesda whoopsie discovered by gamer Patrick Maka, you could simply stroll into the basement of Constellation's headquarters and take the elite Mark I Spacesuit, helmet and boost pack, which not only looks a million dollars but also has some really sweet specs.
>> The article even has a video (in ultrawide) showing you were it is.
Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'When the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'
https://www.pcgamer.com/bethesda-says-most-of-starfields-1000-planets-are-dull-on-purpose-because-when-the-astronauts-went-to-the-moon-there-was-nothing-there-but-they-certainly-werent-bored/
Space is big and, for the most part, kind of dull. The heady thrill of setting foot on planets no human has ever seen aside, most of the celestial bodies in our universe are just big, complicated rocks when you get right down to it. For better or worse, that's a part of reality that Starfield deliberately tries to capture, according to a recent NYT interview (via VG247) with Ashley Cheng, Bethesda's managing director, and Todd Howard, who is Todd Howard.
>> By the way, speedrunners have already reached sub-3 hour runs.

The games for Humble Choice September have been revealed.
The free DLSS 3.5 Starfield mod works perfectly. There's only one big glitch in which you get a small stutter when zooming in with a sniper rifle.. and there's a little ghosting on some elements of the UI otherwise seems to work fine and essentially double fps. Not sure if Reflex is enabled with it but input lag seems decent. Which is great considering how poor it runs on most hardware. Also f that guy who tried monetising his mod with DRM lol.
Hardware Unboxed did a massive CPU comparison in that game and looks to be a very demanding on AMD CPU's. Even Zen 3 struggles in the game. Sad state of affairs in gaming when even processors from a couple years ago offer such performance. Granted Steve was using a 4090 at 1080P still Creation Engine continues to be a dinosaur.
Thanks.
I don't know most of those games, but Tiny Tina and The Forgotten City are both good games.
