I generally don't participate in riots. Hell even during hockey season when there's riots everywhere, I just chill at home. But that would make riot.

Ignoring the fact that I can't imagine EA being big enough to buy Nintendo now or ever, that's... actually almost plausible, considering EA's treatment of their franchises.

How to tell you're Canadian without telling you're Canadian, right? (Please don't tell me you're not Canadian now, because I can't actually remember for sure. :D)

Resident Evil 4 looks really cool as a 2D side-scrolling action game
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/resident-evil-4-looks-really-cool-as-a-2d-side-scrolling-action-game/
Modder ‘DooMero’ has shared two videos, showcasing what Resident Evil 4 could have looked like as a 2D side-scrolling action game.
In order to create this demake, DooMero used GZDoom. And, as you will see, the results are quite impressive. Okay okay, when I say impressive I mean retro-impressive. This doesn’t have any Ray Tracing effects or HD 2D sprites. This is exactly what you’d expect to see in a Game Boy Advance demake of Resident Evil 4, and I kind of love it.
(...)
Unfortunately, this Resident Evil 4 demake in the GZDoom engine is not available for download yet. I also don’t know whether DooMero plans to release it to the public once he completes it. From what I read in the Doomworld forum, DooMero does plan to release this demo to the public someday. But anyway, until that happens, you can find below two videos, packing 40 minutes of gameplay footage from it.

Fallout: New Vegas mod replaces techbro antagonist with an AI-created Elon Musk
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-new-vegas-mod-replaces-techbro-antagonist-with-an-ai-created-elon-musk/
You don't really get much more on-the-nose than this, but a new mod for Fallout: New Vegas replaces the in-game character Mr. House with the real-world character Elon Musk. First spotted by Kotaku, the Elon House mod, created by NoUsernameSelected, takes some cues from a pre-existing New Vegas mod which pulled the same trick with Mark Zuckerberg back in 2020. There's one twist here though: the New Vegas Musk is an AI creation.
In the game Mr. House runs the Strip, one of the big New Vegas locations, and depending on your actions can be friend or foe: essentially do what he says and you're golden, refuse to be a good dog and he'll come for you. House is presented as a tech visionary and in a way one of humanity's hopes, but unfortunately believes his own hype to the extent of deciding the rebuilt civilisation must exist under his sole command. You also communicate with him entirely through looking at a screen.

GAMING NEWS

PAYDAY 3 will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/payday-3-will-be-using-the-denuvo-anti-tamper-tech/
Deep Silver and Starbreeze have revealed via the game’s Steam store page that PAYDAY 3 will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.
From what we know, PAYDAY 3 will be always-online and will not offer an offline mode. Even during single-player missions, the game will require an internet connection. Not only that, but it will also require Starbreeze’s Nebula. So, why will Deep Silver use Denuvo in an always-online game? Don’t know but it seems kind of pointless.

Tuesday news, part two:

Wo Long dev says sorry about the crappy PC version but the thing is, you see, there are lots of types of PC
https://www.pcgamer.com/wo-long-dev-says-sorry-about-the-crappy-pc-version-but-the-thing-is-you-see-there-are-lots-of-types-of-pc/
Team Ninja's Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty was released March 3 on Steam, since when it has acquired mixed reviews at best with a more recent trend towards the overwhelmingly negative. The reason is little to do with the game's quality, with the console versions receiving pretty good reviews, but the many problems that continue to plague the PC version months after release: every negative Steam review I've seen mentions some performance problem, with the most recent summing up a collective sentiment of "not worth your money on PC".

Hasbro says the problem with re-releasing old Transformers games is Activision's lost a bunch of them
https://www.pcgamer.com/hasbro-says-the-problem-with-re-releasing-old-transformers-games-is-activisions-lost-a-bunch-of-them/
Hasbro's flying high at the moment, and is looking to get serious about Transformers and videogames. There have been multiple Transformers games in the past, of course, but these were somewhat isolated licensed titles rather than a part of any grander strategy. Now Hasbro's got a big title on the way next year from Splash Damage, has begun to sell a Gamer Edition line of toys (where the bots look like their designs in certain videogames), and as part of the latter has noticed that these games are incredibly hard to play.

Baldur's Gate 3 has a 'hidden skill tree' for Illithid powers
https://www.pcgamer.com/baldurs-gate-3-has-a-hidden-skill-tree-for-illithid-powers/
The central premise of Baldur's Gate 3 is pretty straightforward: You have an illithid tadpole in your head and you want it out. But what if you decide that you don't actually want that at all—that what you really want is even more mind flayer madness? The Baldur's Gate 3 Steam page states plainly that players can "embrace corruption and become ultimate evil" if that's what they're into, and today Larian finally got around to explaining more about how that's going to work.
>> Be warned, tho, the game's download is 122GB and you can't preload it.

Diablo 4 fans finally got the news we've been waiting for: horse buffs
https://www.pcgamer.com/diablo-4-fans-finally-get-the-news-weve-been-waiting-for-horse-buffs/
It seems like every other day I'm playing Diablo 4, riding my horse through the Fractured Peaks, and the skeletons I've killed countless times have another barricade setup in my path. My horse has survived zombies, bugs, spiders, and polar bears, but it cannot contend with this bony blockade.
Well, I hope those skeletons had fun, because come patch 1.1.1, every Diablo 4 player's horse will gain the power to destroy their stupid little walls.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum gets a big patch but it sounds like the developers are ready to wash their hands of the whole thing
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-lord-of-the-rings-gollum-gets-a-big-patch-but-it-sounds-like-the-developers-are-ready-to-wash-their-hands-of-the-whole-thing/
Daedalic's catastrophic Lord of the Rings: Gollum saga may finally be grinding to a conclusion. The patch notes for a beefy "major update" that dropped last week conclude with a note that, to my reading, pretty strongly suggests that the studio is putting a bow on it and calling it done.

Path of Exile devs 'feel very bad' for their Diablo 4 counterparts, but that's live service for you and why they're 'going more in the Elden Ring sort of direction'
https://www.pcgamer.com/path-of-exile-devs-feel-very-bad-for-their-diablo-4-counterparts-but-thats-live-service-for-you-and-why-theyre-going-more-in-the-elden-ring-sort-of-direction/
Diablo 4's magnificent stallions may be more powerful than ever, but the game itself is in a tough spot. It's always had its disgruntled players, but the blow done to its reputation by the almost universally reviled pre-season 1 patch has seriously soured the mood in the game's community. Although Blizzard apologised for the update's disastrous launch, it didn't totally backpedal on it, and the mood in spaces like the game's subreddit—once a hive of hype— is still bitter.
Other studios are paying attention. In a chat with IGN, developers on long-running Diablo-like Path of Exile gave their take on Diablo 4's rocky season 1 launch, offering Blizzard their sympathy while emphasising that their own fans shouldn't worry: Grinding Gear is taking a different tack with Path of Exile 2.

Sin: Reloaded 'isn't dead' but sure sounds like it's on ice
https://www.pcgamer.com/sin-reloaded-isnt-dead-but-sure-sounds-like-its-on-ice/
Developer Nightdive Studios has un-announced SiN: Reloaded, a remastered version of classic FPS SiN that was first announced in 2020 for a 2021 release. The original game was developed by Ritual Entertainment and released in 1998, with Nightdive acquiring the rights in 2020 and re-releasing it with its expansion as SiN Gold.

Nintendo always tries to cut corners somwhere. We can be certain the it will use an LCD screen, but that won't be all so, what do you prefer, skimp on DLSS or skimp on internal storage again.
