I wonder what major PSU companies like Seasonic and Silverstonetek have to say this new pcie 5.0 connector for top class RTX 4000 series cards.
They'll probably be happy. That means more PSUs sold.

Looking at DLSS 3 frame generation, there is the question if these dlss-generated frames are predicted and displayed before a new frame is traditionally rendered (actual frame prediction) or if a new frame has to be rendered first and the dlss-generated frame is interpolated between two existing frames (that would imply an additional lag of 1/2 frame time bc the rendered frame has to be delayed). Experts are arguing how that frame generation is really working but this slide implies an actual frame prediction with no added lag.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Whenever AMD goes out of their way to greatly benefit gamers price wise with their graphics cards, all it takes is for Nvidia to half ass fake apologize for one gen and everybody runs back to them for the next few gens or more.
If I were AMD, unless I had an unlimited supply of non stop silicon available, which they don't, I'd just keep doing what they're doing with Radeon. Offer a competitive product and charge slightly less while making bank on however much they were able to sell.

As I said the other day, while there's no doubt that the chips are more expensive to make (TSMC raising their prices to reap more profits from the chip shortage and Nvidia having to pay a premium for using their latest process node, more noticeable because they got there from the cheaper Samsung 8nm fabs), AMD has two things going for them to minimize the price increase, and that's using the not so expensive 5nm process and going with chiplets, giving them more chips per waffer. If RDNA3 are as expensive as Nvidia it will be only because AMD wants, not because they need to be that high. |
Well, AIB's have much more negotiating power with AMD than they have with NVidia, so AMD needs to give them a higher share to keep them happy. The question is here how much this negates the cost cutting measures that AMD did with the 7xxx GPUs, but I guess there's still some wiggle room left. I expect the new GPUs to release with prices comparable to the 6x50 releases, which would still undercut NVidia by quite some margin.

I checked it and there are already some discounts. I think it's the first time I've seen 6700XT cards for less than 500€. |
Just Tuesday I was on Mindfactory and found the 6700XT for 440€ (bit more expensive now at 465€), and the 6700 non-XT for 400€. Considering the 6600XT/6650XT (which is actually cheaper than the 6600XT now) is only 30€ cheaper than the 6700 non-XT, I consider that one a better buy right now.

I like it the new graphics will take a bit of getting used to but there is much more information on it and the old current players chart is basically there by clicking most popular and it has some additional info on it.
The new Top sellers including all a games revenue and tracking f2p games is a good move as units sold becomes less and less relevant as the only factor determining a games success and having a tab to swap between Global and different countries rather than changing the url is a nice QoL :)
And now, the Friday news:
