AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 16-Core On Par With Intel’s Core i9-13900K 16-Core CPU In Leaked Cinebench R23 Benchmark

https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-9-7950x-16-core-on-par-with-intel-core-i9-13900k-16-core-cpu-cinebench-r23-benchmark-leak/

The unlimited power setting is basically 350 watts. So if true, I don't think many people will be recommending 13900k over 7950x for pure multicore performance as there's around 100+ watts difference. Unlike Nvidia where you get nearly double the RT performance for that extra power usage along with tensor cores, unless Raptor Lake does extraordinarily well in gaming, I don't see much of a reason.

Exclusive: Intel 13th Generation ‘Raptor Lake’ CPUs Final Lineup, Specifications & Sales Embargo

https://wccftech.com/intel-13-generation-cpus-raptor-lake-final-specifications/

October 20th. So about a month after Zen 4. Unless Intel royally fucks up on pricing after seeing AMDs own pricing, I think Raptor Lake should be a good recommendation for the mid-range. Least at launch... Cheap Z690 boards with PCI-E 5 along with 13600+13700 with significantly more cores. But in the high end, it will most likely flip. But you also need to consider platform longevity as well along with the GPU you are getting. Interesting times ahead.

Crazy prices. I think if the 3080 Ti manages to go down to around $600 or below and you are thinking to get a 4070, it might be a good idea to buy a 3080 Ti instead. While the 3080 Ti will be more power hungry, imo it will be faster than a 4070 at higher resolutions not to mention, you don't have to deal with scalpers.

$1000 at BestBuy Canada. These higher end ones are dropping so much and yet 3060 Ti just at msrp or $20 off.

Man i wanted a card so bad. Now i barely even have time to game.

Yea it's similar to the last cryto crash where the low-midranged barely dropped at all while high end dropped like crazy. Just this time, the high end prices were insanely high so they are dropping even more so. In a normal generation, the 3080 Ti should have replaced the 3080 at the same MSRP so we can think of the $700 being the proper MSRP loll.

And yea that sucks. Personally I'd get a GPU even if you don't have time to game cause eventually you might and on that day, it's better to have one than not.

Great news! Lets just hope they managed to shrink down the space requirements as well.

Latest trailer for Homeworld 3 only shows EGS logo at the end, though their YT video description does link to the Steam store page, only it actually just links you to Steam's main storefront in general. Either way, it's gearbox pubbing it so I'm already seeing red flags.

RTS is the very last genre I'd expect to be exclusive to EGS, and it certainly won't help out that studio over the long-run, since the HW fans have been previously burned before via that Fig funding bs.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

The Homeworld IP is owned by Gearbox, that made the last Borderlands games exclusive to the EGS at launch. And Gearbox is owned by THQ Nordic, aka. Embracer, which has also made a lot of their games exclusive to the EGS.

With that in mind, yeah, it won't surprise me if Homeworld 3 follow the same path.

Why would a game require you to have a phone number associated with your Steam account? And how could it even require it?

Another Intel Core i9-13900K “Raptor Lake” CPU gets tested ahead of October launch

https://videocardz.com/newz/another-intel-core-i9-13900k-raptor-lake-cpu-gets-tested-ahead-of-october-launch

"In Prime95, Raptor Lake running all cores at 5.2 GHz saturates at 378W and 92°C. Judging from the video, this appears to be the Maximum Turbo Boost limit set to 440W."

Feels like every time we have a new Raptor Lake benchmark, the power consumption goes up...

Going to be one hell of a week! Ryzen 7000 reviews/launch, Nvidia Lovelace announcement and Intel Raptor Lake announcements.

Certainly the recommendations are not going to be very easy this time around. Being the fastest won't be the only thing to consider as you have platform longevity with Ryzen as well as Electricity bills on the rise in the EU and other places. So personally, I'll be doing 4 separate recommendations:

Absolute fastest in gaming:

Efficiency and all that out the window in favour for pure framerate.

Best bang per buck:

I will be including 5800X3D and AM4 into the equation assuming Ryzen 7000/Raptor Lake is within 10-15%. But an i5 13600k with a cheap Z690 that has PCI-E 5.0 for GPU might take the cake.

Efficiency optimized build:

Most likely an easy win for Ryzen but with the growing electricity prices, it does need to start being in consideration.

Long term Recommendation:

This is where I take longevity, IO and such into the equation. Having been one of the few people that upgraded from Ryzen 1700 to 3900X to 5950X... I am all too familiar with the ups and downs of sticking with a platform for a long time.

So the 20th is when we'll get the zen4 reviews, right? It will be an interesting day.

And recomending systems wil be hard. There will be a ton of options depending on the budget and what it will be used for.
At least, for the nxt couple months, the old "don't buy it now, they're going to launch something in very soon" advice will be very true.
