Guys, I need your wisdom: My mouse is starting to fail and I'm looking for a replacement, but it's almost impossible to find detailed info. Do you know of any site that tells you detailed info about mice? I'm looking, specifically, to info about the lifespan of the switches, because that's how I kill most of my mice (besides the falling feet).

I've found mousespecs.org and I know about the mouse section from rtings.com, but they don't have a lot of models listed and, therefore, are a bit lacking.

So, do you know of any other place I could go?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think the price of low-mid ranged cards will change much because the oversupply seems to be with higher end cards... Least on Nvidia's end anyway. It's why you have this weirdness where a 3060 AIB costs $414-$450 but a you can find a 3060 Ti FE for $400 at Bestbuy US or 3060 Ti AIB for $465 or 3070 AIB for $500 in newegg US.

AMD's side is a bit different where you can find the 6600XT for the price of a 3050 and sometimes lower.

I'd say that, right now, there's a problem in every segment, and if they've only focused on the high end until now is not because there's more supply of those but rather because those will be the first to be replaced and are also the ones they invested more money. They need to sell them fast or they won't be able to get rid of them.

For the other segments, there's still the rest of the year and could try to do some Black Friday deals to clear most of their stock before the replacement for those cards launch.

Also, the situation isn't the same in every country. Here it's almost impossible to find a 3060Ti for less than 500€.

Can you give us a bit more information what kind of mouse you're looking for? Cable/wifi/bluetooth, size, amount of buttons, if you need things like customizable weight, and so on?

I had a bad experience with a Trust mouse at work, and I'm not touching a Razer product, not even with a three feet pole.

I like big mice, enough to rest most of my palm on them, and also on the mid to heavy side. I'm looking at something with cable so I don't have to worry about battery life and I don't need a lot of buttons.

If it helps, I'm curently using a Sharkoon Drakonia (the green one, not the black one), and I've seen good deals on two Logitech mice: the G402 Hyperion Fury and the G502, that has a lot of models but the biggest difference is a wired and wireless one. I've seen that the 402 is rated for 20 million clicks and the 502 for a wooping 50 million, and the feet on both of them are ok. I don't know the rating for the Drakonia, but it has lasted me around three years, and it's about half the price of the other two.

I've also seen a new model of the logitech M500, with an S at the end. I had not one but two of the original models and I loved the shape, but they barely lasted a couple of years and that's why I had to get something different. Sadly, I couldn't find inf oabout this new model and if they've changed the switches to increase the lifespan.

Afaik, most mice with mechanical switches that you can get all have switches that are prone to failing prematurely these days. The only exception seems to be the new optical switches but usually those are very expensive and are only in some mice.

So for me, the way I go about it is that I pick the mice that I like first, then check for warranty. For example the last mouse I picked was the G502 Lightspeed which frequently goes on sale and comes with a 2 year warranty from Logitech who has great customer service. That costed around $145 when I bought it last year. If I were to get the Razer equivalent that has Optical switches, that would cost me around $300 or so.

So if you want absolute durability, I'd look for Optical switches. I wouldn't pay too much attention as far as the lifespan of the mouse because it's mainly marketing. You can check the reviews and forums and such and a lot of them with mechanical switches are failing as they start exhibiting the double click issue. With that being said, it doesn't happen with everyone and some people have been using mice with mechanical switches without issues for years.

I was something that lasts, but I'm not going to spend more than 100€ on a mouse, that's for certain.

I've seen some comments about that double click issue, but I haven't checked it properly, to be honest, but it seems to affect every mechanical mouse, not just Logitech so....

Oh, the G502 mouse I'm talking about is the wired version called Hero, for 43€

Yea it happens with every mouse that doesn't have optical switches. But at that price range, I'd get one with a good warranty like the G502 you are looking at. Cause even if it fails, you can send it back without much fuss. Usually the first year is fine, it's the second year where they start to have issues.

I know the ooblets thing was around 2 yrs ago now, but this just feels almost like the same scenario, only worse:

So embracer takes a blow to it's stocks due to the reviews and general criticism of the game, but then you've got the devs going to their own personal twitter accounts and abusing the official SR account to basically lash out at reviews/critics/fans, and it just makes the devs look incredibly childish and salty as hell.

This is why you don't let devs handle official game accounts.

Also I found out that SJW Anita (you know, the woman that hates games and tries to get shit cancelled), was influencing the SR devs and giving them input, so it's no surprise to me now as to why this game has shit like "check your privs/down with capitalism". What a fucking shitshow that studio has turned out to be.
