Wow. I was planning on holding off for a while, but if Elden Ring is that good I may have to buy now. Who did y'all say is offering a good preorder discount for a Steam key? Green Man? Fanatical?

I think cdkeys had the lowest but they ran out of keys in certain regions. Greenmangaming is where I bought mine from and they are handing out Elden Ring keys already so you can pre-load it. Also sometimes pre-order bonuses doesn't work with cdkeys keys.

Also PC users get to play Elden Ring 6 hours ahead of console users in some regions for some reason lol.

Some Elden Ring PC performance expectations as DF is gonna wait until Day 1 patch.

1080 Ti seems to be 1080p 60fps with some settings lowered
2080 Ti is hitting 1440p around 60fps at max settings
3080 is needed for a 4k 60fps

There are some stuttering issues from time to time and there's a potential memory leak issue after like 5sh hours. There's also some shadow issues that are mainly visible at lower settings. No DLSS/FSR.

I was going to play this a bit more before my GP subscription runs out but it suddenly won't start anymore.

I don't want to download the whole thing again just for a couple hours play time. I'm moving the game to another drive atm, see if that gives any errors or maybe fixes it. I can't find any info on the error code. The file is there, looks fine.

Moving it gave no errors, but still the same error trying to start the game.
I uninstalled and re-installed the XBox App, same thing.
Tried to repair the app, nothing.

Oh well, uninstalled, I'll try gamepass again next year.

Idk what that error relates to but my experience with Microsoft store has been that as long as you have "modern" hardware with a fresh install of Windows, it works, the best.

I had Ryzen 7 1700 and Windows Store used to bug out quite a bit. Then I eventually upgraded to a 3900X and did a fresh install of Windows and the bugs from the Microsoft Store were gone. With my current system which is a 5950x + 3080 + Windows 11, I haven't had any issues with Gamepass/Microsoft Store.

Now granted that's not ideal but it's also why I like Steam so much. It just works...

It's also incredibly ironic how he's pandering that speech, when people like me were wanting no exclusivity shit and actual choice before this all started, and he's only doing this now because it's clearly stung him something bad. Doesn't help that he's an NFT idiot either.
