AMD Radeon RX 6500XT Review Roundup

https://videocardz.com/123122/amd-radeon-rx-6500xt-review-roundup

Losing against a GTX 1050 Ti in Hitman 3... ouch!

The irony is that if it wasn't for the GPU clown fiesta, this would be one of best generations to get into PC gaming. With Sony and many other developers porting games to PC, with Xbox buying studios where games will only be available on PC and Xbox, PC gamepass being incredible deal, CPU space having fap worthy competition and the list goes on.

Instead we get nonsense like 6500XT and a 3090 Ti which have no purpose in life other than to make the respective companies more money. Meanwhile, a Series S will age better than a 6500XT and a 3090 Ti will get roflstomped by a 4070 in 6-8 months.

A quarter century later, Final Fantasy 7 is no longer locked to 15 fps on PC
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/a-mere-25-years-later-final-fantasy-7-is-no-longer-locked-to-15fps-on-pc/
Originally released on PlayStation in 1997, Final Fantasy VII was within a year ported to Windows PCs and released in June 1998. It's a bit long-in-the-tooth, sure, but has always had a dedicated community of modders doing bits and bobs: one nut has proven especially tough to crack, however. The game is locked at 15 frames per second.
(...)
Anyway: Speaking of which, move over Final Fantasy VII Remake! Thanks to the work of the FFNx modding project, the original Final Fantasy 7 has been modded to run at 60 fps.

Halo Infinite's Big Team Battle multiplayer mode hasn't been working as intended for quite some time now: Large matchmaking parties have trouble getting into games, and when players do get in, they're often disconnected. A patch for the problem went live today, making "minor service adjustments to improve Big Team Battle matchmaking," but sadly it turns out those adjustments were a little too minor.

AMD 6500XT draws more power than 1650 Super while being slower

12 game average:

Total System Power:

Turing has been pretty interesting against RDNA 2. The "16" series GPUs seem to be more power efficient while performing pretty well in Raster while a 2080 Ti can keep up with a 6900XT if the game has heavy enough Ray Tracing effects.

We need someone to launch a non-ASIC equivalent for Ethereum and other crypto horscrap so that GPU prices can start to fall to reasonable levels, not more bitcoin chips.

And AMD has released some very questionable cards over the years, most of them by accident or necessity (they couldn't do something better), but the 6500XT is going to the hall of fame of bad cards from them. And the worst part is that ithey've done like this on purpose.
