I have many doubts about that adapter, like how it will affect latency, but that will be a nightmare with anyone using air coolers.

But hey, it reminds me of the SNES card to play Game Boy games, or those cards for the 16-bit consoles to use cheats.

I'm not sure if I'll get them again on the EGS, but I have time to think about it.

Take all you can from Epic xD. And your right about that DDR4 connector it really does remind me of the game genie for the snes or MD or even the sonic and knuckles to sonic 3 connector xD.

I take a lot of games from them, but there's no point from getting a game ir games you aren't going to play.

The Game Geniie! I forgot how they were called. Between those and the adapters to play US and Japanese games, you could end with a small toer of cartridges .

I already own and have played all 3 on Steam. The third one is a bit darker in tone than the other two, but still a good game despite the reviews. It's a shame they didn't include the mechanics that mentioned the article from the other day.

You know...they are free right? It just takes a few clicks to add them to your library - it isnt going to hurt lol

I know, I know, but when I play them again, it will mostly be to complete some achievements and side quests, and I won't use the copies fomr the EGS for that so, what's the point in getting them again?

The last TR is a great game outside of the final boss fight

Yeah, that fight was a let down and a pain in the arse.

I see each game as a long term investment whether its free or bought. Especially so if its free that you can take advantage of.

You never know when and where you would play them.

Well, in this case, it will have to be on a PC so... .

You get two options on PC now - one where you own the games already and one as a backup just in case that you can get free.

As a backup? I trust Steam way, way more than the Epic Store.

Hell, today my antivirus decided that the Antsream Arcade emulator that I installed from the EGS (and only because they gave away some credits during one week), is a troyan and, therefore, deleted it. And you want me to use that store as backup?

Yeah hate the exclusive deals as its silly and i honestly dont even know why Epic would need them at this stage when they do honestly have such great sales with the coupons. Now when they stop doing that coupon thing well yeah Epic fail on their part as id never buy a game on Epic Store over Steam if they are the exact same price.

I've found better deals of games on GreenManGaming, Humble (with their 20% off discount due to having a sub on Choice) and Fanatical honestly for Steam. Majority of my Steam games I got this year were from bundles and from outside of Steam.

I just bought Borderlands 3 for €4.99 and Disco Elysium for €7.99 in the Epic Games Store.

Much cheaper than on Steam, GMG or in the Humble Store, even with the Choice-discount.

Linus did a small comparison between the new DDR5 vs DDR4 in his usual fashion.

With DDR5 being largely unavailable and scalped to hell, current DDR4 kits/modules still remains relatively competitive in performance and may or may not yet give you tangible performance uplift when going DDR5; and kinda depends on application and workloads.

For gaming there's hardly any uplift. Though in memory intensive applications like Photoshop you can get some pretty substantial performance gains. Value for money DDR4 is still where its at with DDR5 being largely unavailable and it might a solution for people who have or plan to get a ADL system and can't get DDR5 rn.

Yea seeing results like this and the shortages in general, it makes me glad I didn't wait to upgrade.

True, plus you get to enjoy using your PC for a whole year instead of waiting. And early adopter tax on top is always going to be kicker, never mind the current situation with scalpers and shortages. That and it being a negligible difference, for now. People (like us) with Zen 3 PC's can ride it out for a long while yet until more mature DDR5 modules come along and motherboards to go along with Zen4/Raptorlake.

We're not getting anything going forward hw wise are we?.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Eh, its not about trust or not.

I'd rather have options than no options just in case which is why I have an account on pretty much any major platform.

Also what you experienced is likely a false positive especially since Anstream Arcade is a cloud based sub service app which is also on mobile stores and its coming to Steam in the future.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1564030/Antstream_Arcade/

I personally wouldnt use it because I dont like subbing to play games (i.e. PSNow, Xcloud, etc) because of my backlog.

I know it's most likely a false positive, I had it installed for over a month without a problem, but it's still shocking.

As for, once again, getting the games from there, I'll have to check which editions I have on Steam and compare them with the ones at EGS. If there are extras/DLCs I don't have that can add more content, like extra tombs and things like that, I may get them again.

Man scalpers are the scum of the earth. Also PC gamers still waiting on buying a new graphics card at non inflated prices....
