Skyrim is getting a free fishing update and a new Anniversary Edition later this year
https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/skyrim-is-getting-a-free-fishing-update-and-a-new-anniversary-edition-later-this-year/
It's been almost ten years since the launch of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and to mark the big birthday Bethesda Softworks is releasing the Skyrim Anniversary Edition on November 11—the game's actual ten-year anniversary.

That's great hopefully the anniversary is a free update on Steam. Bethesda has been given a lot of shit for Fallout 76 though their support for their games has been pretty darn awesome and how it should be done. Like I bought Quake rerelease on Steam which came out in 2007, and it received a new update yesterday (remaster) that had a lot of work done to it. Other devs would charge you again for a simple texture redo and lighting and this comes with DLC's too.

But yeah, loving Quake remaster so far. Rocket jumping at 240hz never felt so good!

It's interesting how in Canada, there's also 6600 XT still in stock at certain retailers like newegg.

https://www.newegg.ca/msi-radeon-rx-6600-xt-rx-6600-xt-gaming-x-8g/p/N82E16814137681?Description=6600%20xt&cm_re=6600_xt-_-14-137-681-_-Product

Now while obviously overpriced, the other GPUs that are also overpriced have all sold out. So either AMD is making a ton of them or people ain't buying them.

From what I could read on other sites, AMD really made a ton of them. One of the online retailers interviewed in one of the news said that they got more of one single 6600XT model at launch than they got of the all the 3060, 3060Ti, 3070, 3080 and 3090 models combined at launch.

As a result, the markup is quite low making the card ironically good value now, as it's main competitor in it's price class right now is the 1660, which is getting trashed by the 6600XT.

This card and it's high supply could also be the reason why the prices of AMD GPUs didn't go down much over the last couple months, AMD concentrated it's production capacity obviously on the 6600XT to have enough supply at launch.

Yea Optimum Tech that I posted earlier did a market analysis that showed it had MSRP or close to it.

Personally, I still wouldn't consider it a good value even at MSRP. There are too many issues with this card like pci-e x8, low infinity cache, low memory bus and etc. Most people that are going to spend money in this segment most likely have older systems with pci-e gen 3 which makes it have even less performance. While one could say it's good value if the person has no choice and needs a GPU now, it's very hard to openly recommend this card to anyone that has a working GPU even if it's close to MSRP because of all it's deficits.

4.25Ghz is a bit low. Though this is non-k SKU so this would be their more budget line. Whats interesting is the totally different core configurations which we haven't seen yet segregating the K and non K models. It should at the very least be faster than the 11600 and the K model a modest bump over that - if we go by the early leaked benchmarks on engineering samples.

And wow at that slip up on that FE card. 'Finger clot' eh? O_o

I would be mortified if I opened up my GPU and found that.

We did get SSE for free from them back in 2016, so it'd make sense for them to give this as a free update.

That being said, some of those F76 updates were mostly needed updates, and I'm still (like many others on Steam forums are saying) waiting for that much needed optimisation update, because hot damn, performance be janky as hell on F76, even 2 yrs later.

I've always believed and still hold onto it, that these sorts of updates should always remain free on PC. It was like that in the past before, some devs still do it today, so there's not really an overwhelming excuse to stop doing it (unless the game is a complete revamp and hundreds of millions were used to make it all possible, which is very unlikely, given how little some games update their texture/enviro details with their remasters).

I just realised that I don't even own OG Quake on Steam, gotta fix that soon.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Supposedly this case is more to do with OF not doing enough to combat child content and trafficking on their platform than the banks just being uptight or OF thinking this will be a good business move. The press has been digging deeper into them recently and the banks don't want to be associated with that, so OF had to pull the plug.

Epic Games has announced that Yooka-Laylee and Void Bastards are currently free to own on Epic Games Store. From today and until August 26th, PC gamers can visit their EGS pages and acquire their free copies.
>> If you've been claiming all the free games Epic has given, now you have both Yooka-Laylee games. On another note, next week the free game will be "Automachef".

Void Bastards has been on my wishlist for ages but has been frustratingly stubborn about sale pricing. Now I don't have to!

Game Science has just announced that action-adventure game, Black Myth: WuKong, will be using Unreal Engine 5 and will both support DLSS and Ray Tracing. Moreover, the team released a new video, showing 12 minutes of in-engine footage from its latest Unreal Engine 5 build.

Looking better than ever, visually. Top notch. Just a bit concerned about the polish of its gameplay.

Yea that's true, I suppose this is supposed to be their entry level i5. I am assuming the replacement for 11400. Still, scoring 20-30% lower than 11600k with big cores feels a bit odd even at a lower clock but granted this is userbenchmark as well. But yea, the core config situation is very interesting. I am very interested on how it all prices out.

And yea, it's a odd thing for sure lol. I'd frame it and tell my grandkids about this.

If that's the reason, then OnlyFans basically made a business ending move. They are known for their lewd content and that's the main source of simping on their website. They should have done something else but instead, they have chosen death imo.

Yeah, true people have paid money on a product and it should be supported as such. Like reskined or updated models and textures shouldn't cost them much to do and that cost shouldn't be passed onto us consumers. That's kinda why I support companies that do this. Like Valve and CDPR, I know when I buy games from them, they'll keep them up to date and supported for many years after release.

You can find Quake cheap on reseller websites I got mine for £1 but there are others around £4. Which is still half price on Steam store.

[Rumour] Intel XeSS (DLSS Competitor) GPU compatibility

https://www.reddit.com/r/intel/comments/p7ikre/dp4a_support_across_gpu_archs/

"Relevant for running XeSS on non-Intel hardware.
AMD: Vega 20, Arcturus, Navi 12 and later (V_DOT4_I32_I8/V_DOT4_U32_U8).
Arm: Mali G-52, G-76 (*IDP.v4i8), anything Valhall (IDP.v4s8/IDP.v4u8).
Intel: Gfx12 and later.
Nvidia: GP102 and later. "

Turing and Ampere of course have Tensor Cores that are significantly faster in ML operations but we don't know how XeSS will work with Tensor cores so at the very least, those GPUs support DP4a which should allow the GPUs to run XeSS.

According to Intel, this is how it should all perform (lower is better):
