By the way, here's a couple more news about Nvidia and AMD cards:

GALAX’s internal roadmap confirms GeForce RTX 3080 20GB, GeForce RTX 3060
https://videocardz.com/newz/galaxs-internal-roadmap-confirms-geforce-rtx-3080-20gb-geforce-rtx-3060
The company has held a meeting with either employees or key partners in China. The logo in the upper left corner confirms that the slide belongs to Galax. The manufacturer is planning to introduce GeForce RTX 3080 20GB model, which would slide right in between RTX 3080 10GB and GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards. There seem to be no plans for Geforce RTX 3090 successor or upgrade, at least not on this slide.

For the first time, we can also see GeForce RTX 3060 listed on a roadmap, although without the Ti suffix. This graphics card is expected to feature TU106 Ampere GPU. At this time we are unsure if this SKU is the same as RTX 3060 Ti, or there have been plans to release the non-Ti model first.

A model codenamed PG142 SKU 0 is also listed. This model has been known as GeForce RTX 3070 SUPER or 3070 Ti. This card features a full TU104 GPU with 6144 CUDA cores.

That would also mean that the 3070 will be slower than the 2080Ti, and that the 3060 would be a lot closer to the 3070 than in past generations.

AMD adds Dimgrey Cavefish (NAVI 23) to Linux OpenGL driver
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-adds-dimgrey-cavefish-navi-23-to-linux-opengl-driver
AMD today added a new GPU codename to its Linux OpenGL driver stack (Mesa 20.03-devel). The GPU called ‘Dimgrey Cavefish’ has the same GPU architecture level as Navi 21 and Navi 22. The new Dimgrey is more than likely the codename of Navi 23.

The codename can be easily associated with Navi 23 because AMD has already provided the same hexadecimal ranges within other files (0x3C to 0x46).

That would confirm Navy Flounder as Navi 22.

I'm not a big fan of Metal Gear, I only played the ones launched for the PS1, but more games coming to PC is always good news.

What I don't understand from the rest of the Eurogame article is the Castlevania and Contra collections, because they're already on PC:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1018010/Castlevania_Anniversary_Collection/

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1018020/Contra_Anniversary_Collection/

Unless those collections haven't launched in Taiwan, of course.

It's just another release of the same games, this release contains: Castlevania 1-3, Contra, Super C.

Image from rating site:

So both Castlevania and Contra titles, but a lot less of them than the anniversary collections. So I assume this collection is going to be cheaper. Kind of dumb.

Oh, right. Thanks.

It does seem a bit dumb, but the price will decide how much.

3060 on the same performance level as the 2080, interesting. Looking more like 3070 will be slightly under 2080Ti in most cases.

Welp previous 2080Ti who sold them for peanuts.

I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to sell their 2080ti just to buy a 3070. Not even 2080ti buyers.

I fear that on the scales of performance, it'll fall flat. Maybe it's just a red herring and just passable for COD.

The name of the cards will actually be a problem for AMD since they were dumb enough to label their lat gen top tier cards 5700.

How will Big Navi be called? If it's called 6900 and a cut down version (but still Navi 21) is the 6800, then the 6700 woul use the Flounders Navi 22... that has 40CUs like the Navi 10 powering the 5700, but with the disadvantage of having a smaller memory bus. So, in that case, we could run in cases where the 6700 could actually slower than the 5700.

And it would be even worse if there's not cut down Big Navi card and that chip is used for the second tier cards... *facepalm*

Because of that, I think that AMD would skip the x9xx name and simply go with 6800-Navi 21/Big Navi, 6700-cut down Navi 21, 6600-Navi 22/Flounders, 6500-Navi 23/Dimgrey Cavefish.

At least, that's my hope.

The leakers might have gotten 256 bit bus incorrect for big navi. Personally I think big navi with 256 bit bus would have been a weird choice so it would make a lot of sense if AMD was doing it to trick leakers.

Game creation and sharing system Core gets $15M investment led by Epic

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney is putting his money where his mouth is. Four years ago, he told me that the future of games is user-driven, and today, Epic is leading a $15 million investment round in Manticore Games.
Manticore is the maker of Core, a game creation and sharing tool intended to let anyone build online multiplayer games and share them with friends or the world. Think of PlayStation's Dreams, though not as stylish and surprising, and with plans for a creator economy that will see the most popular game designers make money off their creations. Manticore is putting $1 million toward creator payments for starters.
