Sure hope you have trigger fingers then otherwise both zen 3 and 3080 gonna be out of stock for a while. Hell 3900X and 3950X were out of stock for months and those didn't even launch during holiday season/covid.

Next-generation Quadro gets full GA102 GPU

"The card would allegedly feature 10752 CUDA cores and 48 GB of GDDR6 non-X memory."

I am starting to think that rumoured 20GB model might actually be a Quadro card and not a 3080 variant.

@vivster Ah yes the dreaded VSync lol. I never have that turned on. Its annoying its always the default in games as well. Would put up with a bit of screen tearing over lag.

But yeah you'll be golden when you get your new graphics card :>

Gsync has been notorious over the years for changing its stance on vsync. At some point it had to be off and then on and then off again. So I just use it on a per game basis. Any driver update could break it again. The last valid setting was Vsync on, which was absolutely fine on my 144Hz monitor.

Nvidia focusing on CPU?... Why?... Why oh why didn't I buy more Nvidia stock that is.

Reminds me a lot of this deal. Hey big spenders!

Hopefully pans out as, if not more fruitful.

Yup. Mind you, it took a while before we saw any big positives or negatives from the last big shift into a new market by AMD, so it might be a while yet before we get a taste.

2025-2030 is going to be where things really get crazy. Will we have 3 big contenders, or will this ultimately lead to 2? Stay tuned.

Thankfully Freesync has been absolutely flawless on my rig. Not a single tear, dropped frame, stutter or issue.

Honestly no need for nVidia to cling to it's propriety Gsync at the moment.

Fun fact, AMD supposedly intended to buy Nvidia first but Huang made a series of demands like becoming AMD's CEO, etc. and the deal didn't pan out. Of course, though, ATI was in dire straits and would have been probably gobbled up by Intel in the case Nvidia had been acquired by AMD instead, and then Intel would likely have stomped AMD out of the graphics market.

Now, I'm not sure exactly what is Nvidia's endgame here - whether they intend to make a move on the server space in the medium to long term, or try to eventually become a pure licensing company. But the server market is mostly impenetrable to non-x86 products, and the likes of Qualcomm, Samsung, and Apple won't be impressed with attempts at shoving GeForce licenses with future ARM processors. If anything, they are more likely to start to design their own SoCs based on the licenses they already own, as AMD did with x86.
