In other news, Samsung's 980 Pro SSD has "launched" in some parts of the world. No word on pricing yet.

The speeds increased from the rumoured "Up To" 6.5GB/s to 7GB/s. Also if you don't have PCI-E 4.0 board, then don't buy this.

The one not so good thing is that it's a 3 bit TLC instead of 2 bit MLC like their previous pro series drives.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The 2080ti has head room of 125W, plenty for overclocking. How much do you think you will be able to overclock with barely 25W?

So yeah, I'm upping my prediction. Not only will it not be possible to get the 3090 to 2000MHz without liquid nitrogen, but it won't be physically possible without electronically altering the card.

Where are you getting the 25W from?

Card power draw: 350W

2*8pin connectors: 2-150W=300W

PCi-E slot: 75W

So yeah, the connectors can theoretically only deliver 375W, so just 25W more than the TGP rating of the card.

I already posted the reply to that at later posts so you can read about how Titan Z and 295x2 had only dual 8 pin connectors but still had nearly 500 Watts of estimated GPU power draw.

If the way you are calculating the max 375 Watts is by adding the standard specification for those 8 pin connectors and then adding PCI-E wattage, so 150 Watt + 150 Watt + 75 Watt, we have seen in the past that those connectors can provide a lot more power than the standard specs suggest as long as the power supply is capable of it.

For example, if you take two very power hungry cards, the Titan Z and 295x2, both of those only have dual 8 pin connectors. Not more than that yet their estimated power draw is almost 500 Watts. It's why the recommended power supply is 750 Watts at a minimum and it's highly recommended to get 850 Watts or more. And you could overclock those on top of that.

Then I don't understand why everywhere I looked they were talking about "MAX" power over PCIe and the connectors. Where I come from "MAX" means "MAX". There must be a limit where the PSU can't or will not allow more power through any connector, otherwise they might not bother at all with safety.

I actually expected that all high overclocked cards come with 3x 8 Pin.

PSUs are in this respect similar to CPUs: Those with a lower power rating in a series are generally just models who didn't reach the same in testing. PCGH or C'T (can't remember which one, was over 5 years ago) once tested a 450W be quiet! PSU and managed to pull over 800W from it.

However, the PSU won't do this for long - and more to the point, neither would the card, it's power connectors and/or it's cables if they pull more than their designed limit.

Who needs fast SSDs when you can just put the whole game into the 3090 VRAM.

I'm still surprised by the high TDP of the two big cards and how little difference there's between the 3090 and the 3080 even with 14GB more of VRAM, that alone should already eat the extra 30W of the 3090.

That Sony will launch more games on PC is great news for us, and it will be a delight to read the meltdowns that some users will have once someone makes a thread about it. I only hope they test their ports better to avoid the many troubles that Horizon has. Should we start guessing which game will come next? I'd say Days Gone, because it didn't work so well in terms of sales.

Reading GG's patch tweets is delivering every time so far:

That said, I do hope they get a better team to port the games over, because MS is actually shaping their ports up each time, so Sony's going to have to keep on that, unless they want to fall behind.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Console people are fun. Imagine finding only worth in your console because it locks other people out. I bet if you ask those same people why they buy a console over PC they are suddenly able to name 500 more reasons.

I just don't get the melt down. The two main reasons console people say they don't like pc gaming is "cost" and "not as user friendly." Now everytime we hear Sony saying they might port more games to pc, suddenly those don't matter?
