According to the article, partner models could offer 20GB for the 3080 so I'd imagine for 3070, they could offer more as well. Although Nvidia always had less Vram than AMD and consoles.

I hope so. 8GB is not enough tbh. 10GB will be the minumum for upcoming next generation games and console ports.

Man where's AMD. Its been too quiet in the red camp. This is partially why their cards age better with time.

You would have to be more specific what kind of performance, resolution and game fidelity(low, mid, high, ultra). Also your budget would be interesting. It might be that depending on your preference a single PC might not be able to handle 2 games at all.

Personally I would always take 2 PCs, just as I have right now. It is definitely not the cheaper option but it has a huge amount of benefits.

- no hassle with multi monitor

- no hassle with playing 2 games side by side like active windows or fullscreens

- ability to upgrade or fix  PCs individually while still always having at least one running

- No performance issues or interoperability issues which will lead to many hours of troubleshooting and optimization

You can also save a bunch of money if you size them differently, i.e. weaker hardware for less demanding games.

Another thing I don't want to leave unmentioned is that you need to be considerate about where you buy your games. If you just buy all of your games on Steam, you won't be able to play them at the same time on the same account.

Yeah, that may well be the better option. It's likely only one PC would need to have good graphics performance. The other would be running processeor/RAM intensive games but not really need graphics.

Plus I never really considered the issue of controller/keyboard input affecting both screens/games at once rather than just the one I want it to affect.

As far as I'm aware you can play two Steam games on one account as long as one of them is running in offline mode, right?

Yes

Guys, the cat it out!

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 3080 specifications leaked

3090 looks weak sauce. Might as well put a hamster in a wheel. It better has like all of the gigarays.

Even at 7nm, it looks like it will be a very big chip with an extremely high power consumption. They can't push the clocks as much as they would like.

That's true but actually looking at 2080 Ti's rated boost clock, it's 1545 MHz and 1635 MHz for founders but we know that card can stay at over 2000 MHz all day long. So that boost clock is actually kinda high loll.

I would be amazed if anyone can get the 3090 to 2000MHz without liquid nitrogen.

That boost clock seems kinda low. Also where the heck is the 12GB model confirmed by Micron?

At the time I never understood why everyone was reporting 12GB as confirm since the column right next to the column showing 12GB for the 3090 showed 12GB for the Titan RTX and the Titan RTX only ever been sold with 24GB.

Well for all we know, that fancy cooler that Nvidia is making could have quantum thermodynamics technology that teleports the tears of poor people directly into the cooling system in order to sustain the 2100Mhz for 1 nanosecond so Jensen can go out on stage with his leather jacket that he hasn't taken off for 21 years and boast about his fetish of 21.

For 1440P-4k there's already games approaching the limit of 8GB.

There's a few games coming out next year targetting PS5/Xbox Series X; RE8, Battlefield 6 etc.

RE2 Remake already uses 7GB+ on high/ultra settings at 1440P

Who knows, there's always more to memory capacity than just straight out numbers. It's why we have seen Nvidia smoke AMD many times even at higher resolutions with lower Vram.

With that being said, I too certainly hope it's more cause that would mean that 3060 would probably get 6GB.

Mmm looking at it again, you are correct. I didn't even notice that. Perhaps it's just a place holder or something then. I was hoping they would give us a cheaper 12GB 3090 model since 24 is a bit excessive.

They will, it's called a 3080ti.
