No one man can have that much space.

Basically those drives replaced the old NAS which was 10x8 terabyte drives, I had that in operation for a good 5~ years, wanted to dump that setup and reduce the amount of drives due to power costs, complexity, noise and the higher risk of data loss.

Shit even my Xbox One X has 14 Terabytes... Plus the 1 Terabyte of internal space... And I only have a couple terabytes free on that.

Plus now that I have a 100Mbps connection for the last few years, I don't see the need to keep backup copies of games and keep everything installed as I am no longer limited by a shit 2Mbps DSL line.

I should mention I was running servers and such, plus doing development work which I no longer do, at the moment just hosting some database and files for the fire station, need to have a redundancy for when the internet goes offline during an emergency.

I'ma need to flex my storage space game next year at this rate.

If next-gen file sizes blow out... Definitely going to consider doing an 8x 2TB PCI-E card set-up!

You know I've not actually considered a PCI-E card before. I guess I should factor that into my next mobo upgrade next year.

I have a 500GB Crucial SSD... And 4x 12 Terabyte Western Digital external drives.

Only games I am playing on PC these days are generally from Blizzard anyway... Just don't have the time to get invested in a big AAA story driven open world title these days... And I am okay with that.

Storage isn't an issue yet... But the SSD will be replaced next year with a 2-4TB variant, it's getting on in the years.

And I thought I had quite a lot at 5+1TB HDD's. Also have a 50GB SSD as my main boot drive for Windows which I'm not replacing anytime soon.

But  yeah that's insane amount of storage lol.

A full PCI-E 4.0 16x array can potentially provide 64 GB/s of bandwidth.

That's faster than some peoples Ram. Food for thought.

50? Did you mean 500 or is that a typo? Because I used to have 120 GB for Windows + software other than games, and I ran out of space and had to get a bigger one. Visual Studio was probably the biggest single criminal against my SSD...

I'm just waiting to replace my 4x 8TB HDDs with SSDs. It's been full for years. I'd love to have 4x 10TB SSD in RAID 5. And before you start to moan about parity RAID on SSDs, that is absolutely not an issue for my use case as the writes will be low and write speed is irrelevant. All I need for my storage is high IOPS and good read speed.

Yeah 500GB lol. I don't think there is a 50GB SSD.

Still barely enough but it's okay for now. All until I move all to NvMe and one/two massive HDD for multimedia stuff.

I only have Rocket League and CS on there, all other games just take up too much space.
