Well... Here's something, Moore's Law revised some of his Ampere leaks to something more realistic I'd say. I still have my doubts about the 12 Pin connector since I doubt Nvidia is that crazy but we will see. Essentially all of this comes from the rumour that Nvidia will be using all Samsung 8nm for their consumer Ampere instead of a mix of TSMC's 7nm and Samsung's 8nm. Remember to take it with a grain of salt.

To add more fuel to the rumors, even if very vague:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ampere Gaming Graphics Card Allegedly 20% Faster Than GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-ampere-gaming-graphics-card-allegedly-20-faster-than-rtx-2080-ti/

Based on previous rumors, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 is going to be based on the Ampere GA102 GPU core. The same core will be powering the higher-end GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards. The latest details on the performance of this graphics card come from KatCorgi who has stated that the GeForce RTX 3080 will feature up to 20% performance increase over the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.

That's all, a tweet saying that.

Those performance percentages are utterly useless. Could relate to anything. RTX, 8K, some benchmark, who the fuck knows?

^ Agree.

But, after so many rumors telling us how these cards are much, much better in RT than Turing, it'd be a bit of a disappointment if they're "only" 50% better,

So, Big Navi only coming in November? Gonna be a long time before I get to get a new PC...

You meant 20%? 50% would have been Big Navi, not the 3080.

However, even if the 3080 is only 20% faster than the 2080Ti, that doesn't say anything about the 3090 or a 3080Ti.

Good news for anyone allergic to launchers.

Just like everyone is still forced to have the steam launcher installed. Everyone has to sacrifice something for the greater good.

Considering the amount of people that use Steam and value it's features on a daily basis, I'd say it's the opposite.

Not sure how Epic is the "greater good" though. You don't get much with a bare-bones client.

Considering the many millions of people who downloaded the client in a short time frame and get a free game every week I'd say the value proposition isn't too bad. So far the launcher hasn't raped my family yet, which is pretty much on par with steam, minus the free games of course.

Journey up a haunted mountain in the pencil-drawn horror game Mundaun
https://www.pcgamer.com/journey-up-a-haunted-mountain-in-the-hand-penciled-horror-game-mundaun/
One of the more interesting games we saw during today's Day of the Devs livestream is a "hand-pencilled horror tale" called Mundaun. Set on a great, strange mountain in the alps, it begins with the mysterious death of an old man that leads to the discovery of something far more sinister.

I Am Dead is a ghostly puzzle-adventure from the makers of Wilmot's Warehouse
https://www.pcgamer.com/i-am-dead-is-a-ghostly-puzzle-adventure-from-the-makers-of-wilmots-warehouse/
I Am Dead is a puzzle-adventure game about a museum curator named Morris Lupton and his dog Sparky, both of whom are dead. That's not really a problem, though. The real issue is that the tiny island of Shelmerston, where they lived in more corporeal times (and which remains packed with locals and tourists alike), is about to be destroyed by a volcanic eruption, and they're the only ones who can stop it.

Help a young girl save an island paradise in Alba: A Wildlife Adventure

Ustwo's surreal 2014 puzzle game Monument Valley is one of my very favorite mobile games. Unfortunately, it's only a mobile game, so it's not something we talk about much here at PC Gamer. But today, developer Ustwo Games unveiled its next project, a journey to a Mediterranean island paradise called Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, and we will be talking about that because it's coming our way sometime this winter.

Riot's lead character designer for Valorant has debunked rumours that its next two playable Agents would be called Crusader and Shatter.
The two agents were found within the game's files by dataminer Valorant Express, who quickly concluded that they were scheduled for imminent inclusion into the game. Both have been recurring names within the Valorant mining scene, popping up in the files throughout both the closed beta and the live game. It was rumoured that Shatter's primary ability would be to create a clone decoy of themselves that would later explore, while Crusader could deploy a shield.

New report claims Assassin's Creed developers were pressured into minimising female protagonists
https://www.pcgamer.com/new-report-claims-assassins-creed-developers-were-pressured-into-minimising-female-protagonists/
Recent Assassin's Creed games were originally going to have much larger roles for their women protagonists according to a new report on Bloomberg.
The report, which investigates recent reports of harassment, abuse and toxicity within Ubisoft, outlines how the publisher's culture of misogyny and "machismo" impacted on the games it produced.
>> Because that's clearly a misogynistic behavior and not a business decision to reach as many players as possible without excluding anyone, right? For God's sake...

Does an impossible Slay the Spire seed exist? This player's crunched the numbers
https://www.pcgamer.com/does-an-impossible-slay-the-spire-seed-exist-this-players-doing-the-maths/
Slay the Spire is a deck building roguelike that starts off hard and gets even harder. A seemingly good start can quickly unravel as a result of a few careless choices, but is every seed actually winnable? Slay the Spire modder Forgotten Arbiter has been trying to find the answer to that question over the last couple of years. His research—which you can read in his detailed blog post—has proven that impossible seeds are incredibly tricky to find, even when concentrating on a single class.

Nope the rumored 3080 would be 20% faster than a 2080Ti and also 50% faster than a 2080. That would be a great improvement gen over gen in every metric except for ray tracing, where in would fall a bit short of my expectations given the rumors we've had.
