Yea maybe in like 5-7 years of not longer, they might have a competing product. As with China's cpu ventures, they are essentially as fast as old Intel Atom cpus. The main thing that's driving them is the fact that the US is preventing companies from doing business with China so the Chinese Government is opening up tons of contracts to buy even super shit PCs to try and get these companies going. If I remember correctly, chinese government has essentially banned the purchase of any new computers that has US components for the government offices and sites so that's the main reason why we have these companies popping up right now. And with that kind of funding, they might eventually catch up but as we all know, making CPUs and GPUs ain't easy but China always does have their own "tricks" loll.

I imagine Chinese R&D going a little like the Orcs:

I get the part about the US doing what it's doing. China isn't exactly a fair market to begin with, what with their gov owning a good chunk of the market, as well as dictating it and making it's consumer market think everything is competing fair and square, when it really isn't, and well, I don't want to see a world where China owns everything and it's all made with cheap tacky shit either.

As far as I'm concerned, they to me are a non player in this foray. Maybe they will in those 5-7 yrs, but I still won't buy from them.

Polar Cry 6???

Loll idk either. Someone dun goofed

Or a deliverated attempt to try to keep the game hide in the store/database until it's finally revealed, at which point a simple change of names would fix it.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

So the next one will then be Fry Cry 7 and the Switch Port Fly Guy 7

Don't be silly. It's Ubisoft who we're talking about. It will be "Pay per Cry".

Zhao entering the GPU market, or is it really China doing so.

Imagine them entering the market, and all of China buys up their CPU's, making a crap ton of holla dolla, then China buys up AMD or Nvidia via Tencent.

I wanna see how this actually pans out, but I know it's China, they like to inflate and dominate over time, and not in the fair way.

They are partnering up with Via technologies, so I am going to go out on a limb and say it's S3 graphics based... As they share some commonality with HTC which has roots to China as is.

The last S3 GPU was the chrome series which were competitive with low-end Geforce 8000 parts like the Geforce 8400GT.... Basically trash.
And according to reports the chips will be made at 28nm, so will be several generations behind on fabrication technology as well.

In saying that, they made good HTPC cards, but nVidia and AMD are playing a cut-throat game, no way can they keep up with their cadence, R&D investment and  technological advancement.

*****

AMD's GPU's aren't going anywhere, AMD profits greatly from that technology with it's APU's... And they get a good chunk of change from semi-custom chips, a-la, consoles... And some licensing revenue from Qualcomm and soon Samsung who builds graphics chips using Radeon I.P.

Apple warns customers not to close its laptops with a camera cover attached. Though it might strike some people as obvious advice, Apple has published a support page that warns MacBook owners not to close their laptop with a camera cover in place. Damage like a cracked display could result, according to the company, because “the clearance between the display and keyboard is designed to very tight tolerances.” MacRumors spotted the advisory, which Apple posted on July 2nd.

The text is a Chinese translation as you can see in the leftover Chinese text. As far as I know my Kanjis depending on context you can use the same symbol for both "very far" or "isolated" and "polar". I assume it's similar in Chinese. It might be a translation error or a word play.

Great sales for Persona 4. Hopefully that convinces Sega and Atlus to bring more Persona games to PC.

Looks like people got bored during lockdown and decided to use their PCs for something more than work. Or replaced their old ones that couldn't even do that.

I've seen people not closing their laptops but almost smacking the display into the lower part of it. That some are breaking them doesn't surprise me in the slightest. But Apple's may be more prone to break...

Remember how AMD "stole" the X399 chipset for Threadripper when Intel had been using the X99 and X299? Well, Nvidia doesn't want any of that, so they've secured the rights to use those names in the future. Nothing surprising in that.

They should have also trademarked "3070", "3090", "4070", "4090", "5070" and "5090" then, just to be sure.

Although it would be funny if AMD counters a "RTX 3080" with a "RX 3090".
