Here's some apple news. While I personally don't care about Macbooks/iMacs very much, the move going from x86 to Arm is pretty weird even for them. Specially since it sounds like it will include their "Pro" series as well. If Intel continued with their quad core nonsense, I could see how maybe Arm could make some sense but with Ryzen competition and Intel upping their core count, this certainly could be a DoA move even for Apple. I guess they care so much about their eco system that they want to lock it down even to the point where the only reason you would buy one of their PCs is to develop for iOS and use their own software. Where as now, you could say that a person that would buy a Mac would want a laptop that gives them the benefits of both Mac OS and Windows.

Kuo: 13.3-inch MacBook Pro and new 24-inch iMac will be the first ARM Macs, to be released as soon as Q4

https://9to5mac.com/2020/06/21/kuo-13-3-inch-macbook-pro-and-imac-will-be-the-first-arm-macs-to-be-released-as-soon-as-q4-after-redesigned-intel-imac-launch/

After 15 Years, Apple Prepares to Break Up With Intel

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/19/technology/apple-intel-breakup.html

Least with this and Ryzen, Intel should be starting to sweat.

Not sure if Apple can shift their Pro line to ARM already, both due to performance and due to program compatibility.

Oh, and then there's investors who try to sell Apple going ARM as a good thing for Intel: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/in-this-case-losing-apple-as-a-customer-would-be-good-news-2020-06-15

The Author seems to not get that Apple buys mostly higher-end and thus expensive models of Intel's chips, aka the i7 or even i9 lines of CPUs, especially in the Pro series. As a result, 6% of the chips does not translate into 6% revenue, 10-12% would probably be more correct. He thinks Intel could then produce and sell more data center chips, but with the Human Malware going around and Zen 2 based Epyc server racks now finally being ready for sale from different companies like Cray or AWS, I'm very sure Intel's data center business will take quite a hit. I suspect he's the same person who said in January that due to almost no shift in market share for Epyc (which was still getting integrated into server racks at the time) that Zen 2 failed and everybody should sell AMD because they simply couldn't keep up with Intel in any domain...

Titanfall 2 is enjoying a second wind thanks to Steam
https://www.pcgamer.com/titanfall-2-is-enjoying-a-second-wind-thanks-to-steam/
EA is once again releasing games on Steam instead of keeping them locked up on Origin, adding the likes of The Sims 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition to the rival platform. It turns out, however, the one game people really wanted was Titanfall 2.
(...)
The Steam launch, then, is a blessing, adding thousands of new players to the mix. It's at the top of the global best sellers list, and its concurrent player numbers put it well within the top 100 most played games on Steam. With a peak of more than 9,000 concurrent players, it's proving to be substantially more popular than Battlefield 5 and Star Wars Battlefront 2, at least on Steam.

GOG starts the week with two deals:

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-witcher-3-redux-version-3-0-download/
Modder ‘Aleks Vuckovic’ has released Version 3.0 of his gamepaly mod for The Witcher 3, The Witcher 3 Redux. According to the changelog, version 3.0 re-balances the Burning Critical Effect as it was a little over-nerfed and adds Elemental Armor ability to Gargoyles.
Moreover, it fixes a rare issue with combat skill “Fleet Footed”. This bug could cause Geralt to sometimes not have the critical chance bonus applied. Additionally, it lowers follower damage by 20% as they were a little over-powered. It also lowers mini-boss/boss human enemy vitality bonus further from +100%/200% to +75%/100%, respectively.

This mod lets you build a working custom PC inside Minecraft
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-mod-lets-you-build-a-working-custom-pc-inside-minecraft/
I'm gonna ask that you watch the entirety of the gif above, which shows a neat-looking Minecraft mod that lets you order a bunch of computer parts (using a craftable tablet) which arrive from space via rocket (why not?) in cardboard boxes.
You can then open up your PC case, add a motherboard, a CPU and GPU, RAM, and a hard drive, and set up your monitor and keyboard.
Then you can install an ISO (the gif shows Windows 98 being installed, and please note that this part takes long enough for the sun to go down and the moon to rise) and use your PC inside Minecraft like a real PC. Play Doom. Use MS Paint. How cool is that?
The mod is called VM Computers, made by DeltaTwoForce, who posted it over in r/gaming a couple days ago (that's where the gif is from). It uses VirtualBox, so you'll need to download and install that, too. Once you've got the mod running, craft your tablet and contact the PC store, which is orbiting the Minecraft planet and should pass over you about five times during a normal Minecraft day.

MechWarrior 5 overhaul mod makes serious improvements to customization and combat
https://www.pcgamer.com/mechwarrior-5-overhaul-mod-makes-serious-improvements-to-customization-and-combat/
I waited many years to finally play MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, and it makes me sad how quickly I've moved on from it. It came out late last year, was fun for a bit but didn't make a lasting impression the way open-world sandbox games of that nature often do. The procedurally-generated missions were just a little too boring, and I wish there were more options for deep mech customization. But now that MW5 has mod support, someone's gone and tried to fix both of those issues.
It's called MW5 Mercs Reloaded, and though its only in beta and still a long way from completion, the amount of big changes it makes to the base game is impressive.

Star Wars: Squadrons will have 'zero microtransactions'
https://www.pcgamer.com/star-wars-squadrons-will-have-zero-microtransactions/
We noted in our recent look at Star Wars: Squadrons that while the game will have two kinds of unlockables, cosmetics and modifications, Electronic Arts hadn't commented on the presence of microtransactions in the game. Today it clarified the situation: There won't be any at all.
>> And...

Star Wars: Squadrons will be an exclusively first-person game
https://www.pcgamer.com/star-wars-squadrons-will-be-an-exclusively-first-person-game/
First-person cockpits are the best. Not only can you see all the switches and doo-dads that make a complicated feat of technology fly through air (or space), but it's even cooler if your pilot manually reaches over to turn a knob. Yet, cockpit views are often trivialized by the clearly superior wide-angle of third-person view. That's why I'm glad that Star Wars: Squadrons will be played exclusively in first-person, according to a recent Gamespot interview with creative director Ian Frazier.

Sir Ian Holm, who played Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings movies and Frodo Baggins in the BBC radio version, died on June 19 at the age of 88. He was honored by players across multiple servers in The Lord of the Rings Online, some meeting at the Baggins' home of Bag End while others walked to Rivendell together to gather around the in-game Bilbo and pay their respects.

Watch EEK3, the Haunted PS1 trailer showcase for indie horror
https://www.pcgamer.com/watch-eek3-the-haunted-ps1-trailer-showcase-for-indie-horror/
Everyone's favorite part of E3, the definitely real and not a metafictional construct called EEK3, took place at a new site where the abandoned mall used to stand on the edge of town earlier today. Despite inclement weather, including fog that reduced draw distance to a record low and scanlines of up to 40 percent, turnout was good, with many attendees relying on CRT filters for their own safety.
Right, enough of that. What actually happened is that the fine people behind the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc 2020 assembled a showcase of indie games sharing the low-poly horror aesthetic. Between brief bumpers hosted by a skeleton and a ghost, trailers for over 40 upcoming and recently released games were shown.

Huge Rainbow Six Siege leaks detail new operators, gadgets, and weapon sights

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time official reveal coming tomorrow

Following a leak from the Taiwanese rating board, Activision has announced that the official reveal of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is happening tomorrow, June 22, at 8 am PDT/4 pm BST. The announcement tweet was accompanied by a teaser trailer that hearkens back to the downright creepy marketing for the original 1996 game.

https://www.pcgamer.com/civ-6s-battle-royale-mode-gets-even-weirder-with-zombies-aliens-and-sean-bean/
Civilization 6's developers recently outlined what's coming in its next free update, including a host of patches and tweaks. And then, almost four minutes into the video explaining this, they casually mentioned that Civ 6's battle royale mode will be getting zombie and alien factions, as well as narration by Sean Bean.

Absurdist RPG Hylics 2 will be out tomorrow, here's a weird trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/absurdist-rpg-hylics-2-will-be-out-tomorrow-heres-a-weird-trailer/
Hylics was a surreal RPG by Mason Lindroth, as much an art gallery as a videogame. Writing about it for us, Giada Zavaris said, "The best moments of Hylics are when it reminds you that it's not truly a videogame, but more of a toy—when you're playing a song with friends, picking vegetables, building sandcastles on a beach. Small Interactions that make the environment melt and crumble under your touch. It's a small world, yet it feels more lively than bigger RPGs full of static, untouchable elements."
A sequel has been in the works for a couple of years now, and will be released tomorrow.

Ok, so as you all may remember, last week there was the PC Gaming Show, that generated so many news that I had to post them in an unusual way. Viv commented, in a joking way, that I should take it easier and reduce the quantity of news I post.

Well, I won't hand pick the "most interesting" articles because, let's be honest, there are a lot of genres and sub-genres and we all have different tastes in gaming. It would be impossible to do so without leaving some of you disappointed. It's not a viable solution.

But we can narrow down what articles you're most interested in and which ones don't interest you, but I need your help. The following are the articles I post and the ones I don't:

+Articles I post:

  • Sales & player count numbers
  • Store deals and discounts
  • Store related changes/updates
  • Engine related news
  • Emulators
  • Mods & fan projects
  • Most game related info: announcements, trailers/gameplay videos, release dates, delays, etc
  • Denuvo related news, both new versions of it, games that use it and games that remove it

+Articles I don't post:

  • Fan remakes that aren't and won't be available to download
  • News concerning subscription based services like GamePass. This is about PC games/gaming, and that doesn't meed PC to work.
  • eSports and competitions
  • Non gaming related news. I'm looking at you, PC Gamer with your TV shows and board games articles

News regarding screenshots need a special mention because I tend to only post them when there are little news.

Well, I'd be grateful if you let me know what you would change.

Thanks in advance.
