https://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-wants-your-opinions-to-improve-gaming-on-windows-10/
Microsoft’s Team Xbox has a query for those of you running Windows 10: How can they make it better? They’ve set up a site on Xbox Ideas, a virtual suggestion box if you will, for you to pose your questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions to them about the future of gaming on Windows. Specifically, they’re interested in three things: What you want Windows to do, or stop doing, while you’re playing a game, what you want Windows to optimize for your gaming, and what new features Windows needs for gaming.

Metroid Prime gets an AI-enhanced ESRGAN HD texture pack, improves more than 9000 textures
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/metroid-prime-gets-an-ai-enhanced-esrgan-hd-texture-pack-improves-more-than-9000-textures/
Metroid fans, here is something special for you today. Resetera’s member ‘collige ‘ has released a HD Texture Pack for Metroid Prime using AI-enhanced techniques like ESRGAN that weights around 1.8GB. And as with all AI-enhanced HD texture packs, this one will improve the game’s textures while also retain its style and atmosphere.
Now the reason we’re sharing this HD Texture Pack for a Nintendo GameCube game is because you can only use it via the Dolphin emulator on the PC. Yeap, this “remastered” version of Metroid Prime can only be played on the PC.

Quake 1.5 beta is available for download, expands campaign, adds gore, new enemies and more
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/quake-1-5-beta-is-available-for-download-expands-campaign-adds-gore-new-enemies-and-more/
Earlier this week we shared a trailer for Quake 1.5 and today we are happy to report that its debut beta version is available for download. Quake 1.5 is a Darkplaces addon mod for the original Quake that utilizes Seven’s SMC 5.30 as a base and has been expanded to include new features such as weapons, gore, and enemies.
In addition to the new enemies in Quake 1.5, players can expect some new content as well. The existing boss fights have been redone and there are 2 new episode bosses with their own respective levels, as well as a well hidden secret level with an entrance hidden in one of the existing quake levels.
According to the modder, Quake 1.5 requires a 2017 build of Darkplaces (that you can download from here), and is not designed with RT world lighting in mind so performance in real-time mode may vary wildly.

Who needs a horse when you can ride through Skyrim on a motorcycle?
https://www.pcgamer.com/who-needs-a-horse-when-you-can-ride-through-skyrim-on-a-motorcycle/
You know what the problem with a horse is? It only has one horsepower. One! It's pathetic. That's why you should upgrade to a hog—by which I mean a motorcycle. This mod for Skyrim and Skyrim Special Edition adds a Dwarven motorcyle so you can cruise around the world in style, full throttle.
The mod even lets you choose how you'd like it to sound: it can make standard Dwarven machinery noises, or sound like a real motorcycle. The gif above, by the way, is made from this video by Arctic Scrolls, which is pretty funny if you watch the whole thing.
>> A horse has more than 1HP, just saying.
Legendary Half-Life mod Sven Co-op turns 20 years old
https://www.pcgamer.com/legendary-half-life-mod-sven-co-op-turns-20-years-old/
Half-Life, released at the end of 1998, did not have cooperative gameplay. That was unacceptable to Sven Viking, who on January 19th, 1999 released beta 0.8 of his mod Sven Co-op, a proof of concept multiplayer modification consisting of a single level of the campaign. Today, 20 years later, Build 3482406 of Sven Co-op is available. That’s exciting, unless, like me, it makes you feel the inevitable march of time and the looming of the grave all the more keenly.
>> The Sven Co-op mod is available from Steam.
Dragon Age: Origins has a huge fan patch that fixes 790 bugs
https://www.pcgamer.com/dragon-age-origins-has-a-huge-fan-patch-that-fixes-790-bugs/
While we're busy speculating about the next Dragon Age game, the first in the series continues to be modded and tweaked. The Dragon Age: Origins modding community has been hard at work fixing the RPG's bugs and broken bits for years, apparently. A patch of fan fixes is available on Nexus Mods, called Qwinn’s Ultimate DAO Fixpack, that attempts to fix every single bug in scripting, quests, plot, dialogue and more.
The nice thing is that this isn’t a patch that overhauls the game, adding new items and weird new quests. It also doesn’t try to overhaul DAO’s notoriously wonky combat balance, leaving that just as BioWare did. For better or for worse, this is very much the same game that was released—it just, you know, works better. It seems like a must-have for people who loved Dragon Age and want to experience it again. (Or for the first time.)
Medieval 2’s Elder Scrolls mod gets ever deeper in 2.0 update
https://www.pcgamer.com/medieval-2s-elder-scrolls-mod-gets-ever-deeper-in-20-update/
The modders behind Medieval 2: Total War + The Elder Scrolls mashup The Elder Scrolls: Total War are going ever deeper into the lore of Tamriel, adding mercenary armies to represent minor factions and races across the map. The upcoming 2.0 update will introduce three new armies after nearly four years of development on the mod. (PC Gamer first reported on the mod in March 2015.) This new patch will add Skyrim’s infamous Reachmen, the Tsaesci serpent-men, and the Clockwork City of Sotha Sil as factions that you can recruit to your cause by fulfilling certain quests on the strategic map. To recruit the Reachmen, for example, you have to unite their territories in southwest Skyrim and then release their leader, Madanach, from the Sidna mines where he’s being held prisoner. It’ll earn you the enmity of Ulfric Stormcloak, however.

Gameplay footage from the cancelled version of True Crime: Hong Kong/Sleeping Dogs
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/gameplay-footage-from-the-cancelled-version-of-true-crime-hong-kong-sleeping-dogs/
Sleeping Dogs was one of the most beautiful and cool open-world games in the previous generation. Inspired by movies like Infernal Affairs, this game put you in the shoes of an undercover police offer that has to infiltrate – and destroy from the inside – the Sun On Yee Triad organization.
However, there was a time when Sleeping Dogs (before Square Enix acquiring it, when it was known as True Crime: Hong Kong) was cancelled by Activision. In 2011, Activision decided to pull the plug and cancel True Crime: Hong Kong due to numerous delays and budget issues. Thankfully, Square Enix acquired the rights and YouTube’s ‘NeoGamer’ has shared all the gameplay footage that was shown for that cancelled version of Sleeping Dogs.
