Not only is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout free to try for this week (ending on January 24), it seems that Treyarch are pulling out all the stops to get new players involved by adding a limited time mode which will allow players to respawn—with certain limitations.

17 years later, ModDB hosts thousands of mods and Reismanis and the staff he's built up around the site and its spin-off sites are launching something new. Modularity is a publishing label with two focuses: indie games that are heavily moddable, and games made by modders who want to turn pro. Their launch game, Meeple Station, is a perfect example of the first kind of project—a space station sim that looks a bit RimWorld and a bit Spacebase DF-9, which has scope for modders to create both cosmetic additions like new furniture pieces as well as more drastic overhauls.

Bethesda has been busy patching loopholes in Fallout 76 that allow item duping, but a new blog post suggests it's going further and actually banning players who use these exploits. "We want you to know that we take these exploits and those abusing them VERY seriously," the post states. The post also refers to players who found a way into Fallout 76's secret 'dev room', which contains every item in the game, including unreleased items.

They Are Billions developer Numantian Games has laid out its plans for 2019, which will see continued improvements and expansions made to the level editor and two new maps added to the Survival Mode. It also provided an update on the status of the campaign, which is taking longer than expected to finish but is still on the way.

Bungie's weekly update is typically a wealth of information about balance changes and upcoming features for Destiny 2, but this week's starts with something a bit different. Luke Smith, Destiny's franchise director, wrote in with a note about Bungie's split from Activision and its "bright future," while also indicating that Bungie's relationships with partners who have helped out on Destiny seem to be wrapping up. He thanked High Moon Studios for co-developing Forsaken, and Vicarious Visions for Destiny 2's PC port and their current work on some unreleased Destiny 2 content that's still hush-hush.
