By the way, Videocardz has published it's third Rumor round up from Nvidia's next cards: https://videocardz.com/77312/nvidia-geforce-20-series-rumor-roundup-3-breaking-the-enigma

It's mostly about specs. I find interesting that the 2080 would have, if rumors are true, a TDP of 210W compared to the 180W of the 1080. But well, if it's faster than a Titan V as thyey claim, it needs to use some power.

Steam may be getting tools that will enable Windows games to run in Linux
https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-may-be-getting-tools-that-will-enable-windows-games-to-run-in-linux/
Valve announced the Linux-based SteamOS in 2013, just prior to the reveal of the vaguely console-like Steam Machine PCs. It was a big, bold move that ultimately petered out: Valve ditched the Steam Machines section of its website in April, aalthough you can still hit it directly if you know the URL.
SteamOS is still alive and kicking, though—in fact, the 2.164 update was pushed just a couple of weeks ago—and now it appears that Valve is aiming to dramatically broaden its capabilities. Members of the r/linux-gaming subreddit recently discovered text strings referring to, among other things, "compatibility tools" that would enable games designed for Windows—which is to say, pretty much all of them—to run on Linux. The functionality will apparently be similar to that of the well-aged Wine, but with the added muscle of official backing and support from Valve.

Honestly, screenshots from Outward gave me very Gothic vibe - I doubt it will be anything like it, but one can hope.

Given that THQ Nordic (which owns Koch Media, which in turn owns Deep Silver) is on shopping spree, I wouldn't be surprised much if I wake up one day to news of them acquiring Piranha Bytes.

It makes sense that THQ Nordic acquires them eventually - THQ published Gothic 1 in Europe, JoWood published Gothic 2/3 (and that other game with number 4 in title) and got acquired by Nordic (which is now THQ Nordic), Deep Silver (owned by THQ Nordic) published Risen 1-3 and THQ Nordic publsihed ELEX...more or less, Pirahna Bytes are pretty tied to them.

Surveillance state thriller Orwell is free until Saturday on the Humble Store

Getting to the point of all this, it's also free for the next couple of days on the Humble Store. Just hit the Orwell store page, click the "add to cart" button, and then rock the "checkout" button, unless you want to do some more shopping before you wrap up. Adult game approval on Steam could still be months away
https://www.pcgamer.com/adult-game-approval-on-steam-could-still-be-months-away/
Valve said in June that Steam's policies were being changed to allow basically everything on Steam, as long as it wasn't either illegal or "straight-up trolling." As part of that effort, Valve said it was working on new filtering tools that would give Steam users more control over what they see on the platform, and added that "significant changes" to what's allowed wouldn't be seen until those tools were in place. It also plans tools for developers to help curb harassment due to "controversial content."
In light of that, it's no surprise (or at least it shouldn't be) that adult games are not being automatically and immediately approved for sale on Steam. But as Gamasutra reports, the process may be taking longer than some developers, and some users, expected. When Negligee: Love Stories developer Dharker Studio inquired about the game, which has apparently already been hung up in the process for "a very long time," it was told that it might be months yet before it got the thumbs up.

Developed by Danish studio Hero Blocks, it features 3v3 action with a heavy emphasis on teamwork, and no small amount of bloodlust. (Yup, that's hockey.)

Kitfox Games announced Boyfriend Dungeon last year with a vague teaser but a promising idea: a dungeon-crawling dating sim where you romance your weapons to make them, and yourself, stronger. It's a modern RPG where you fight for glory in the "dunj" and fight for love at dating hotspots like museums and cafes. It recently launched on Kickstarter with a new trailer, and its crowdfunding campaign is not only chock-full of much-needed details, it's also already raised nearly double its $50,000 goal with 29 days to go.

A U.S. court has awarded Take-Two Interactive a preliminary injunction to block software that helps players cheat at Grand Theft Auto Online, Reuters reports.
On Thursday, U.S District Judge Luis Stratton awarded the injunction against Georgia resident David Zipperer, who Take-Two had accused of selling two programs without the company’s permission, which provided players who used them an unfair advantage in GTA Online.

Microsoft says Halo: Infinite “is Halo 6”
https://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-says-halo-infinite-is-halo-6/
Microsoft has stated that Halo fans should think of Halo: Infinite as Halo 6, despite the game not actually being called Halo 6.
Speaking during a recent Mixer broadcast, 343 Studios Jeff Easterling said “You should just consider it Halo 6. Don’t think of it as a weird prequel kind of thing. It’s the next story. It’s the next chapter in what’s going on.”

Ok, guys. There's been lots of leaks about Nvidia's new parts:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 PCB and Turing TU104 GPU Exposed – Will Be Available For Preorder Along with RTX 2080 Ti on Monday, 20th August, Priced Close To GTX 1080
https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-turing-tu104-gpu-pcb-exposed/
The first NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards will be available for preorder on Monday after their announcement at Gamescom, in Cologne, Germany. In a report published by Nordichardware, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 20 series graphics card will be announced on Monday, followed be immediate preorders on the official NVIDIA GeForce webpage.

>>We'll have the Ti variant at launch.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti features 4352 CUDA cores
https://videocardz.com/77369/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-ti-features-4352-cuda-cores
What we know: GeForce RTX 2080 Ti packs 11GB and 352-bit memory (just as GTX 1080 Ti). What is new is the GDDR6 memory clocked at 14 Gbps. This increased the maximum theoretical bandwidth to 616 Gb/s (that’s 132 Gb/s more).

We can confirm that GeForce RTX 2080 Ti features 4352 CUDA cores, that’s fewer than Quadro RTX 6000/8000, which both feature 4608 unified shaders.

The GeForce RTX 2080 is an 8GB 256-bit model. It is equipped with 2944 CUDA cores, not 3072 as previously speculated. This means GeForce RTX 2080 lost 128 CUDA cores from TU104 GPU compared to Quadro RTX 5000.

CUDA Cores Memory Memory Bus Memory Bandwidth
RTX 2080 Ti 4352 11 GB GDDR6 352-bit 616 GB/s
GTX 1080 Ti 3584 11 GB GDDR5X 352-bit 484 GB/s
RTX 2080 2944 8 GB GDDR6 256-bit 448 GB/s
GTX 1080 2560 8 GB GDDR5X 256-bit 352 GB/s

And there's also lots of third party cards:
