Remember a while ago, some feminist group/woman  (not up on my feminism groups lulz) did a review of Videogames basically summarising that they are mysognistic and anti female progression. Part one focused on older games, part 2 focuses on more recent games.

Whilst I disagree with almost everything said, it is interesting to see her point of view.

Whilst her presentation and content is debateable, I still think there's something to be discussed though the Youtube comments have been blocked which speaks volumes in my opinion but hey.

ten minutes in vid. going to bed now.
I really wonder where this is going...

Maybe someone should tell her that 99% of the games aren't aimed at women.. If they would buy as many videogames as men i would have agree but this is a simple thing called target audience... It would be like me complaining that iCarly isn't mature enough for men of my age and they should introduce more adult themes into the show...

That's the point she makes, these games support the idea of violence by men against women and are aimed at men. Argueably these games could encourage or at the very least show it's "okay" to be violent against women.

It does suggest that she's only interested in intelligent commentary, yes.

Whilst that can obviously be the case (hey, it's youtube after all) but at the same time, if you are confident in your arguement, it shouldn't matter what anyone says because it feels as if she's sticking her head in the sand, only giving her side of the arguement unwilling to listen to others.

This video argues that she only made this video to support her original claim rather than present an unbiased view on this premise.

I think she comes off way too one sided, makes no attempt to present the otherside.

In her defence, she claims part 3 will show the role reversal (i.e dude in distress), so we will have to wait to see how that handles it.

But I disagree with a lot of what she suggests, e.g playing games where women are "victimised", makes the players become mysogonistic and sexist.

Nope.. She's just overthinking things.. Its a billion dollar industry with great examples of none violent games.. But largly aimed at men and boys.. So they aim were the money is.. i should make a video and complain about the make up industry for portraiting women as ugly unless they wear make up.. and to top it make a second video complaining about no make up commercial with men.. Are we too ugly to be pretty?

I agree, there's a lot of misrepresentation of the facts in the videos, which is why I hate the whole thing in the first place.

My sentiments exactly. I would even say that there is perhaps a case to be made in favor of her general point, but the way it was done was just terrible.

I actually came upon this video a couple of days ago (part 2) and after watching it I couldn't bring myself to go back and watch the first one (it doesn't help that that woman is a bit annoying, either). Even my girlfriend was shaking her head through it (though we did get a couple of laughs out of it). And as you said, it does indeed speak volumes that the comments are disabled. Clearly it was intended to make a proclamation without welcoming discussion.

I get the impression she had a conclusion before and just tried to find evidence to shpport that predisposition. Her condescending attitude on it does not have the feel of debate, rather a lecture dictating "truth".
