I'm not really sure how I feel about smart watches in general. They seem like a cool concept, but just not sure. Kind of like google glasses.

I kinda stopped wearing watches (and I do have some nice ones, even limited editions) since I have a smartphone.. its strange to see a watch become a gimped smartphone.. but a lot also said that the iPad was just a bigger iPhone and people wouldn't buy it so who knows..

I still wear watches sometimes when I go out. It's more akin to an accessory then for actually telling time though. So I agree, a smart watch along with a smart phone seems somewhat redundant. I felt the same way that tablets were just a bigger smarthphone, but after awhile  I came around to think that they were seperate devices. You have to really try it out for a bit to see the diff. Maybe, it'll be the same for smart watches,

i already have a smartwatch. it's called iphone. it's a pocket watch. i'm old school that way.

I would've bought one if it connected to Windows Phones. Oh well, now that MS almost completely stopped WP 7.8 support, I guess i'll have to buy a new smartphone if I want to use these things.

that's actually what i look like in real life.

I prefer ABC watches myself.

so after mobile phones made watches irrelevant because you were able to look onto your phone to see what time it is, now smartwatches try to spare us to pull out the smartphone to see if new messages arrived?

makes sense.

i mean really. will be fun to observe people in public which look on their smartwatches every minute, to check if someone liked the last "took a hard dump" post on facebook and THEN pull out the smartphone again to post "i named it kevin before flushing LOL".

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

It looks nice but i don't use watches anymore. My phone can tell me the time

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Its been out for ages, this is the revamp I presume.

Its a compromise. It connects to your android phone via bluetooth.

Its ok if you are one of those guys that has their keys hanging from a belt loop.

It's a watch... "craftmanship"!? please. Anyone that loves watches would scoff at the "craftsmanship" in this.

I'll stick with the Panerai.

Anybody that buys an electronic watch, especially one that uses things like bluetooth and whatnot, isn't concerned about craftsmanship, they'd rather have something that's hip and new and in their minds, relevant.  Some of the stuff that you say just misses the point.

Btw, check out the coming thread on Microsoft's Windows growth in the Mobile forum, its simply astounding how well gartner thinks that windows devices will boom in the next couple of years.  Cheers.
