it’s a linear story-based game. We’re trying to tell a story. It’s what we call a filmic experience.

My interest in this game died right there.

You don't like cinematic games?? No love for God of War, Uncharted, The Last of US and Bioshock?
Speaking on bioshock, that game should have been more 'filmic" and less shooty :)

I love God of War, but that's a gameplay centered game and not very cinematic. The cinematics in it are approporiate.
Uncharted is a big no no, and to me just an interactive movie.
Bioshock in the past had the story telling integrated into the world, not very cinematic IMO. But if Bioshock Infinite became more cinematic then I'm disappointed.

You should definitely play Infinite, its a great game, but relies less on voice recordings than the 1st Bioshock.
Uncharted is just a gameplay focused as god of war. Sounds like your not a big fan of linear 3rd person shooters with shallow puzzles and platforming. There are relavtively few cutscenes in Uncharted, just lots of scripted gameplay events in which the player is still in control. Same applies to Bioshock Infinite but with far fewer set pieces. The difference between Uncharted and GOW is that Uncharted relies on the cinematic/scripted elements to carry it because the gameplay itself isn't that fun. However I do think the 3rd Uncharted game did make combat more enjoyable through more open play fields, which encouraged experimentation and vertical transversal in combat, putting the automated platforming to use.
