While it would've made an interesting videogame, I still think that only an HBO/premium channel miniseries could truly do it justice..

Yeah, sure, because what this world needs a new zombie game. Seems like they hardly make those anymore.

The second I saw the trailer I went "aw...they did not even try..." in regards to getting close to source material.

I agree that a mini series on HBO would have been far preferable.

A game could have been good, but if you were going to base it on the accounts in the book you'd have some TWD:TG type adventures and some COD type missions, there is too much variety. I could see some sort of special ops shooter set globally come out of it, but at that point it'd just be another zombie game.

How about a mini series? With the talent and budget like that of The Pacific or Band of Brothers it could be something special.

Its on iOS.. I actually bought it but havent played it yet

If the concept would bring new and original gameplay ideas that benefit the player, then sure - just like anything. If developers of a "world war Z" game could craft a playing experience with mechanics that enrich the player's life, then why not? The narrative of this one probably lends itself to a film more than a game though - if the book is anything to go by.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

The movie actually has many similarities to the last of us, i just watched it today, so spoilers for those who havnt seen it

theres a scene where they have to sneak past the zombies in the medical facility, looked bang on like a mission from the last of us, i was actually hoping someone would throw a can to distract them.

Neither ... Zombie games are played out. We need a break from them, in my opinion.

Movie tie ins rarely do well. They often turn out to be horrid due to time and budgetary constraints (Among other issues).

TLOU approached it from a creative angle, but apart from that series, I probably would'nt support more of them.

well theres the IOS game.
