I did enjoy the Kinect for a 2 hours time, we had friends over. And the next day I found myself putting it aside.
So on the whole it's just an additional charge nothing more at least for a gamer as myself. But if Kinect 2.0 gets some good in-game features rather than Ninja Fruit I'll consider it.

yes i really like kinect (well, kinect 1 could be obviously better) and i'm happy that every console will have it. only then, developers will really think about using it for stuff like in skyrim which is awesome and will probably also work much better with kinect 2. and i also like something like fantasia or kinect sports but kinect sports only when i have visitors.

i also really like the idea to play as example fifa against a friend and see him on the screen while playing. to see his reaction after you shot a goal and so on... or for co-op games like gears of war. it's much nicer to see your friends which live around the country when you play with them.

I appreciate your optimism, but don't you think this is unlikely? Will third-party developers really put that much effort into Kinect just because it's part of the system? The Wii U GamePad is very much an essential part of the Wii U, yet developers haven't been coming up with groundbreaking and innovative uses for it. Same with the Wii remote.

Don't get me wrong -- I hope some developers, especially Rare, do something interesting with Kinect -- but there's a long history of developers doing what's safe, commonplace, and easy. I don't think Kinect will suddenly inspire them to create something new and exciting.

i hate it. i dont want or need one. i bought one because it was different, but never played it again after the first week or so. it just collected dust. it was such a waste and i will not do it again. i hope for a separate xbo package without one, but since that will not happen i will wait for it to come down another $200 or so before buying one, and/or halo 5 comes out before then, still a good year or 2 away, i just look at it as a unwanted thing that is nothing more than a tax to make xbo more expensive.

Yes. The OS requires it. It's an essential feature to everyone.

i think it is  likely that we will get many more games like skyrim using voice commands which is not groundbreaking but still very nice. not only will more people who play those games have kinect now, kinect will also recognize us better now which makes it easier to implement something like that for it. skyrim with kinect 1 is good but it could work better. if we will get useful gesture commands for games played with the controller is another question but i think we will see at least some games using it but only because it's a part of every console.

it's the combination of some voice commands here, some possibilities to see your friends while playing there and stuff like that which makes kinect good for me. and at least the stuff with the voice commands has a much bigger chance to get implemented by developers when every console has it.

sure, not everyone will like the controller+kinect stuff but those games will also work without kinect. but to get kinect+controller in some games, it has to be implemented with every console

They should've just made it as an add-on like before and give consumers the option to have it or not. I'm sure without it, they could've priced the Xbone at $399 and could've possiblly change the momentum from what it is now for next gen.

The beginning of this gen, many were saying Sony's shoving Blu-ray down their throats (but now Xbone is using it so those people can now shut it) but I think this is far worst as it's even more useless.

I'm excited for Halo 5 but Kinect 2 will likely have nothing to do with it. It's a waste and worthless to me.

Kinect is the only thing that seperates the Xbox One from the PS4, so I am glad to have it.
Yeah one has faster RAM, but only geeks like the ones on Forums care about it.

The graphical gap will be tiny, the games will be the same except from a handful exclusives for both systems each year. The controllers are similar, too.

Kinect and its multimedia capabilities is the only real difference.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Id say its a great differentiators.

Games like Skyrim, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Forza 4, ME3, etc. all use it in a way that makes the game a bit more immersive.

But video chat on Skype, voice commanding the marketplace and my media, without even having to sit down on my coach, more then justifies it.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Despite what it offers i would hardly use. Why use voice control when i could get to where i want with a controller just as quickly? I don't really use skype, game chat or anything like that. And gaming without a controller seems odd to me

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

No, I will barely use kinect. It takes up space since it's required and adds more to the overall cost.
