At Sony’s 2013 E3 press conference, the company finally showed off what the PlayStation 4 looks like, and it even revealed the price of the unit. But mum was the word on when consumers could expect to pick up the console, other than confirming that it would indeed be available in 2013.

Well, it looks like we may have a release date, at least for parts of Europe.

NeoGAF member Cyborg posted the picture below from a Media Markt store in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It pinpoints the release date for the console as November 13, 2013. Others in the thread point to European online outlets that also have the date pegged for November 13, 2013.

Could this be a promotional item made by Media Markt without any word from Sony? Sure, but it wouldn’t make much sense. Media Markt is an absolutely massive chain in Europe, and is essentially that continent’s version of Best Buy. They most certainly have communication with Sony about when its console is coming out, suggesting that this ad didn’t materialize out of thin air.

This would also be good news for Europe, if true, since Europeans didn’t get PlayStation 3 until 2007, seeing the console release to their American and Japanese brethren earlier in 2006.

We’ve reached out to Sony for clarification and confirmation and will update when we hear back.

Xbone or PS4

Well The Last Of Us may or may not have hinted at an October release and it should be known the PS4 will hit America before Europe

But we will see

I hope Japan gets a release in 2013 aswell

I can see an October release also. At the very end of October though. I do hope Japan gets a 2013 release date too, I think that will help the Ps4 tons. I bet we will hear more at TGS.
