It's damn good, but that good? I dunno yet...but I'm only just headed to the second city.

Same here. Best game ever for me. The most remarkable thing is, besides graphics, sound, atmosphere, plot or gameplay, which is all brilliant, is that it has the most human and natural characters I've ever seen in a video game.

And so is the game itself. It's not the closest thing to perfection as for video games, but it's just human

I was hoping to play last night, but a system update popped up and I installed it. Had my PS3 auto shut-off. Was already too late and I had went to bed. This morning I check the forums from work and I see there were consoles bricking from the update. Now I'm worried if PS3 was bricked. Won't know till I get home. I'll be so mad if it is. Not because my console bricked, but because I won't be able to start playing the game.

Possibly the most over-hyped game I have played.
Walk through this corridor, crouch behind this object, grab this guy, kill this guy, rinse and repeat.
Possibly the most linear game I have ever played.
Don't get me wrong it is a decent game but it does not deserve anywhere near the praise it has received. Uncharted is miles better.
As for Ellie she is totally devoid of personality. Saying "shit" or "fuck" every few minutes does not = personality.
I am about to complete the game and I have yet to experience anything unique that makes the game stand out above others.
For me getting 10s means there should be something new, a new mechanic, a new bench mark for which games now have to meet. Games like Half Life 2 etc.
Last of us is decent but I have been bored out my nut most of the time.

The thing about "best game eva" posts is that you have to wait at least a year to be able to tell its the best.

When you finish a game, you're so hyped about it, your perception tends to be very skewed and biased.

Lets see where this game is at in terms of praise few years down the road. Will be Another Zelda Ocarina of Time or Mario Galaxy? Or will it be another Resident Evil 2?

I seriously cannot understand how come that's the "best game evah" according to critics. Words fail to describe how massively overhyped that game is.

It kinda is a political protest.

You will realize how worthless these spectacle games are if you watch a let's play video before playing them. Then when you're playing you will realize that let's play equals you playing them, it is the exact same experience. These games are just too cinematic. They have amazing production values but they suck as games.

Different strokes for different folks, but the benchmark that this game sets is definitely presentation, the main reason it recieved all of those 10's.  Just because it may not be your kind of game doesn't mean you need to discredit what this game does better than any other game, and Ill say ever.  It has the best presentation of any game I have ever played.  It may not feature the best gameplay, but it is one of the greatest experiences I have ever had playing a video game.  Its pure magic IMO.
