Forums - Microsoft - X1 already launched in Illinois

No, not Microsoft's X1 but Comcast's.

And wouldn't you know it? Control your TV through voice commands... I guess MS' groundbreaking TV features aren't so groundbreaking... and why would I need another device to do the same things. So, if you were a Sony fan and jealous about the voice commands to change the TV on the X1... it's okay... you can still get the X1 and do the same thing without buying the X1

Sports apps, facebook, pandora and more

By the way... shouldn't MS have done some research and have noticed X1 was being used with voice commands already?

I wouldnt get either of them....I would rather use a remote lol.

But smart search, recommendations, and sports apps....

It appears to be over $1200 per year at the absolute cheapest and comes with barely a fraction of the features the Xbox One has.

Someone purchasing this plus a PS4 would seem to face fees in excess of $1600 for the first year alone, for fewer features than a $500 Xbox ONE purchase, and a game line up that is arguably poorer in the first year according to the substantial portion of the gaming press...

Therefore I am assuming this is just a slightly unclear joke thread.

Flawed logic.... You still need to have a cable subscription with Xbox 1 to use the xbox 1's features.

also i'd like to add - bold is exactly why i don't have cable and personally couldn't care less about xbone's live tv feature.

but i have seen the commericals.  didn't realise this was only for illinois.  but i did get a chuckle when i saw the commerical.

I don't have cable either. Last time I did was 17 years ago when the place my mom rented had the cable hooked up when we moved in and she didn't pay for it. She then realized a couple years later the cable company fucked up and she called to tell them it was connected...

I honestly don't know everywhere it's offered but I know it is in Illinois from the commercials as well. I assume its anywhere comcast offers their service

The same logic applies to Xbox one. They showed Comcast when showing what the console could do. With out cable the xbox one is just a super closed platform console with drm.

My Comcast bill is going to be $100/month or $1200/year with or without an XBO. So it is still a hundred dollars cheaper for the PS4.

Sony has announced they have 20 games coming from SCEWWS in the first 12 months of PS4. So far they have announced 5 (Killzone: Shadow Fall, Drive Club, Knack, inFamous: Second Son, and The Order: 1886). They still have 15 exclusive Sony developed games left to announce. Microsoft showed a lot of their hand at E3, Sony has chose to spread theirs across Gamescom, TGS, VGA's and other events throught this year and next.

So now all the Xbone has is games....? Isn't that ironic.....

i mean this in the must non-disrespectful way i can possibly say this,.. how dumb was that?!?

i mean, i know that is still pretty disrespectful but i don't know how to sugar coat it any more.  why the heck would you call that in?

also, i know xbone works only with select cable services at launch.  with Xfinity having a very similar service is there any chance comcast just blocks the xbone?  i mean, is it limited because MS has to work out a deal with every cable provider or just limited because it takes MS time to incorporate whatever middleware is needed for every cable provider?

do we have a list of day-1 supported cable services?

edit: i also meant to put this in my first post.  lololol at X1 having such a similar name to xbox one.
