Forums - Sony - The Last of Us Review: Naughty Dog has disappointed!

Nice!! 11 hours and 58% in and it is damn near perfect. I do agree the AI is odd at times the way they run around and how loud they are sometimes. But they help a lot in fights. I've seen jaggies but for some reason they are not as prevalent as in Uncharted 3 for me. Some texturing and details are out of this world for consoles. Easily the best looking game on consoles to me. And so far is my game of the generation.

Alright, so where do I disagree with you?

Graphics: Fantastic character models and environments. 3D assets are nice but show their age, especially cars, tvs and a few other objects.

Story: Fantastic. I fully agree, ND has told a dramatic story about something more than the end of the world by zombie like creatures.

Gameplay: the shooting feels more like Uncharted 1 than 2, but it's still really good. The pacing of the game does falter quite often however, turning into a walking/ looting simulator.

And so it has its cons, more than just AI that can get in the way of a kill shot.

Overall I'd still give it a 10 simply because I judge a game on how it made me feel.

lol, I love how your score is higher then mine. As for gameplay, I disagree with you. I thought the parts when you just walk in this world was good. It gives you a moment to absorb in what has really happened to the world and gives a little back story in the form of notes/scenery. It was a nice pace, some of the best interaction between Ellie and Joel that fleshed them out was in those parts.

Everyone keeps telling me that and it makes me want to play it nonstop, but I'm staying in control and only gonna play 3-4 hours a day.  Already played 4 hours today.

I was pretty surprised at how wrapped up I got into the story. I also cared for the characters. In most games, I couldn't give a shit. I haven't gotten this wrapped up in a story since bioshock infinite.

Yes, I'm at the point where I love when Ellie and Joel talk while i'm playing.  Especially when she reads her jokes.  I think her voice actress did an amazing job.  Also in the intro when Joels daughter was killed, I almost broke down and cried. It really hit me for some reason.

Ya that was rather sad. I love how we get to see their natural progression from barely tolerating each other to caring for one another. It has some rather obvious things shown, but also so rather subtle changes in there behavior.

Naughty Dog is just pure geniuses when it comes to storytelling and nailing the emotions.

Yeah, still not sure about Drive Club but the others I more than likely will get on their launches.  I'm also getting AC4 and Watch Dogs at launch as well.
