I was pretty surprised at how wrapped up I got into the story. I also cared for the characters. In most games, I couldn't give a shit.

Yes, I'm at the point where I love when Ellie and Joel talk while i'm playing.  Especially when she reads her jokes.  I think her voice actress did an amazing job.  Also in the intro when Joels daughter was killed, I almost broke down and cried. It really hit me for some reason.
