Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4 pre-orders doubling Xbox One at GameStop

The PS4 is outselling the Xbox One by two units to one at GameStop, a GameStop representative told GameZone. This was according to a local retailer who didn't specify whether this was chain wide or just at the individual store; however, I think we can presume, given what we already know about the two systems' sales, that the PS4 is outselling the Xbox One overall. Whether it's at a rate of two to one everywhere is still a bit of a mystery.

It is not clear if the guy means a specific store or all the GameStop.

Edit - Some GAFers that works at GameStop in US are saying 2:1 and 3:1 in most of cases...

...that's a pretty important distinction isn't it? Why report on it without even being sure? I'd hardly mind if it was across every store, but that's a pretty big gap to leave out of the story.

Oh, games journalism. -_-

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

Is this gamestop in the US?

Pretty big difference between 1 store and an entire chain of stores. Misleading titles btw.

I agree... I think the number is even bigger... 3 to 1 or more.

We'll see what's the reality when the actual sales kick in, it's a long way from now to launch-day and in the end I doubt microsoft will be beaten in US/UK. It doesn't matter that much anyway, both console are going to be low shippement and sold out.

One Gamestop store equals the World.

US I think will be close with MS ahead but UK will be Sony land... my predicition.

Pre orders are possibly more important, because on launch day both will probably be sold out due to short supply. Might be as much as 6 months before we start to see a proper picture from sales.
