Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Fans: What can Nintendo do to lose you as a customer?

By not adding online multiplayer to Mario 3D World...

Around the Network

Kind of similar to you. If they just stop making games, if the games they make are in majority non-games (like Brain age and such), or if they incessantly desecrate their IPs with qualities that don't represent them in my view.

For instance, Pikmin 3 is presented as I would expect Pikmin to be. If it were reduced to a cartoony game with uninspiring colors and sounds, mostly feeling like cheap audio and mix of colors, then I'd be unhappy at Nintendo, much like I wasn't a fan of the art direction of NSMB2 (in my humble opinion).* Pilotwings became Pilotwings resort, that kind of babification of some of their franchises is a major turn off to me. Another example I thought was totally missed was Punch Out. A big fan of the original, the art direction of the new one just was totally off and much of the sense of victory and glory of the original was lost.

But with their recent lineup of Smash, X, 3DW (exceptionally looking great despite the change of art direction) and DKCR:TF, they can release other non-games and it wouldn't bother me a bit. I'll be happy because I'm being catered to.

The Nintendo of 2011-2012 didn't make me happy, but I'm satisfied with their recent showings.

Also, I've greatly adjusted my expectations of Nintendo of late so that also makes it easier for me to accept them as they are.

*Art direction is very important to me in a game, more important than gameplay much of the time. (these are my tastes)

All Nintendo needs to do is become like Sega - a third-party developer that can't consistently make good games.
