Forums - Gaming - Is it me, or are consumers attempting more crowd control than Microsoft?

So the crowd is attempting to crowd control?

Around the Network

Yikes. Is there some alternate VGChartz forum I do not know about? The only people really vocal about the Xbox One here are the droves of people with Playstation avatars/signatures who were mostly never going to buy an Xbox One anyway. Can you point to an example of Xbox One enthusiasts "making features up"? You say it as if it's an every day thing.

If you have threads where 9 out of every 10 posts in it are essentially trolling/hating/downplaying something about the Xbox One, of course you're going to notice the positive posters more. That's the only good thing about all these trolls in the threads, they don't understand moderation. Their posts are starting to just look like one big turd and it's becoming quite easy to just scroll past a post based on what avatar you see next to it and focus on posts with actual substance.

Anyone who thinks this is just Sony users (considering they sold the same number of consoles as Xbox this gen) is seriously deluded. Just look at the Gamespot voting, amazon threads, people like AngryJoe/Francis who were solid Xbox owners, they say the same thing.

Yes there is a lot of crap on the internet, and yes some people are enjoying it, but don't for one minute think this is "Sony fans" just to re-enforce peoples own hate of Sony.

You could say that the opposite is true, that a few people are defending MS to the hilt without actually acknowledging why people have an issue with what they are doing.

Also one might have noticed that E3 has only just finished so there is going to be a lot of posts about this, because that's natural as this is a gaming forum... I do expect everything to calm down for a little while until the next crazy thing happens from either Sony/MS.

Not true at all. I would say I have been one of the most vocal members on this debate and up until last weekend I owned only a Wii and 2 working xbox360s this gen.

I'm not "loyal" to any company but the new direction Microsoft is heading is an absolute discgrace IMO.

I've only seen a couple of people try to put a positive spin on their policies. I do see a massive number of aggressive pro Sony people all over the internet though. I can't blame the Microsoft crowd for staying quiet even if they do agree with the policies. Sales will show the true sentiment of gamers.

This first post pretty much sums it up. Alot of vocal haters while Xbox guys are staying mostly quiet. People might be surprised at how well X1 might end up selling.

It will sell, but it will not sell well. Nowhere near close as the 360. And this has nothing to do with Sony fanboys being loud and annoying, it has to do with Microsoft's own policies . They are literally denying people who want to buy the console. I've never seen any company do that before. People in unsupported countries, military, people without reliable access to the internet, people who want physical copies over digital only, all of them were able to buy a 360 before, now then can't upgrade. And what's worse, when they ask for a solution to their problems Microsoft's response is "Keep your 360". How could these people not hate Microsoft? How could they possibly not want to get a PS4 instead?

Also, the amount of contradictory statements and conplicated always-changing policies only generates mistrust. And that's the last thing you want when you're trying to sell a product.

That ^

And with the all the negativity coming from Sony fans in other thread, did not you think it was enough?
You really feel the need to create a new one?

Don't make the mistake of assuming the hate is all from Sony fans. I chose a 360 and a Wii over the PS3 last gen, and I was seriously considering getting an X1, until their BS policies drove me away.

Not sure to follow you here? Do you really believe everything is flying around you or what?

The majority of negativity on all the replies on these forums are from Sony fans and I think you are doing a mistake if you think otherwise...
Of course it is not ONLY them... But the majority for sure... If you are not one of them; good for you but it is still the reality.

As far as Microsoft's policies and their awesome familiy game library concept; it is just a matter of opinion and preferences.
Having 3 kids at home destroying the discs and playing with their own Xbox Live account; I can tell you that their new way to handle the game library is 10x times better than any previous generation or than the Xbox360/PS3/PS4 for me... Different needs, different point of view...

Its the complete opposite, haters are making shit up to make the console seem less attractive.  Talk of turning activation servers off after 10 years, supposed hardware issues because of the size of the console, only focusing on the negatives of DRM and not the benefits, downplaying all exclusives and making out they're just timed with ZERO evidence to show otherwise, claiming high end PC's were used to make all XBO games look better on the basis on one picture from one third party and anecdotal evidence of a crash.   Then there are all the threads quoting twitter from Xbox support trying to twist normal customer service responses to questions its clear they don't have all the answers too into them somehow not caring or to downplay features.

This forum is riddled with Sony fanboys behaving as above but you somehow seem blind to it, wonder why?

Nah, not blind to, we all know their is hate roaming around, but that's not the point I'm trying to make.  What I'm saying is that microsoft isn't doing much to keep things calm it seems really......and when they do, it usually makes things worse.

What I  do notice is a plethora of defensive threads, to go along with the plethora of the offensive ones. The defensive ones take a lot of thing out of context just as well and speculation (don't hate me pbroy, but i think your DRM thread is laughable and a good example for this) though, while others are definently doing a lot better than microsofts PR division and others..... "Well a rich kid who doesn't care about anyone else and this works for me.."

Also people defending with there heels so firm in the ground the responses of "deal with it" or "people will buy it anyway from studies" is astonishing to me. I will never understand fanboyism for any console....and before anyone gets in a hissy fit I'm not directing that fanboy comment to anyone. To me it seems like they've almost given up PR on it and are just lettig others do the talking for them....and if you want to be fair about it sony hasn't commented either and is letting their fans do the attacking for them.

If you really want to question my "loyalty to a company" with your ad hominem I'll spell it out for you. I could give a rat's ass about either company. Each generation if there is an exclusive I want bad enough that isn't on PC i'll nab the console. Happened last year with monster hunter on wii and star ocean (was still exclusive at the time) on 360. I'm the PC guy on the side watching both side with knives go at it having a laugh.  What I do have a problem is region locking, and always online. The fact that I'm in the military and move often to different countries where it won't work. I also deploy this winter. "One" of these consoles won't work anywhere I'm going or anywhere I'll be living until 2017.

The ratio of defensive threads to hate threads is probably 1 to 10 so you're still acting blind to the issue.  The responses you're referring to with the deal about it would be perfectly reasonable if you read the same 10 Sony posters in every thread stating the same retarded "issues" (which are their opinion not facts) purely to disrupt every single conversation.  Microsoft have a strategy and it seems quite clear the best strategy at the moment is to let people blow some steam off then start their positive PR train closer to release where a lot of the current negativity will be made to look stupid imo.

Good for you that you're in the military, Microsoft have already said they're looking into a solution for you, did you miss that press release amongst the hate mongering?  Even so if it doesn't fit your needs then don't buy it, problem solved.  I don't see any redeeming features about the Wii U for me as a gamer but you don't see me infesting every Wii U thread hating on it and downplaying it.  It would be nice if the Sony fans that clearly dont have any intention to buy the One would kindly do the same and Foxtrot Oscar.
