I don't know what you guys are all happy about. This is going to be a really bad year....for my bank account. Those new IPs you're talking about is going to make it a lot worse. How am I going to eat? How?

Ah, every year seems to be the year of the gamer!

I can recall titles I looked forward to for just about the past decade. New IP appear, old franchises get thrown in limbo, new hardware (console and PC-wise) show up, peripherals go on sale, and about four times out of each year gamers receive an influx of games that boost console sales. Oh, and coincidentally, about four times a year I spend on games as if my livelihood depended on it (kinda does, I guess).

I dunno, but it seems the more things change, the more they remain the same.
