It's a lot of pressure when the expectation is way off the chart.

Taking a look at Metal Gear Rising, i think it would be good for Platinum to stick to their own IP's

I took more than a look at Metal Gear Rising and I disagree.

I'd rather see their take on Star Fox or Kid Icarus, anyway. Metroid isn't quite the right fit for Platinum.

Samus would have a really really nice ass though.

I always felt like Metroid games have to be made perfectly to be enjoyable. Having a game with so much exploration at one time and few actions at others like the Prime games seem tricky to make. And its tiny sale potential compared to Zelda, Mario, or 2D Donkey Kong doesn't provide much room for slip-ups.

damn the last few days I've been wanting a new Metroid game so bad :(

I hope Nintendo has someone good making one and that it will be announced sooner than later
