Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo claims to have "no plans" to drop Wii U price, "Now a great value with the announcements from our competitors"

I don't think Nintendo should cut the price as long as they are loosing on every unite sold.

The perception of our price has changed...

You know, he's completely right - now that PS4 is announced at $399, that $349 price tag looks completely ludicrous.

yeah but you don't need to pay to play online o_O;

So a 32GB WiiU for $349 or a far more powerful PS4 with 500GB for $399. I'm sure some stores will toss in a free game too.

Plus I expect PS3/360 to get price cuts as the new gen systems come out further eroding the perceived value of WiiU.

They have to drop it's price before the holidays or even Mario and DK won't be able to save it.

I think a lot of you are ignoring that PS+ required for online play part ^_^;;;;; wasn't this like a long time good thing for the PS3?

and i wouldnt reeally be looking at a wiiu for multiplayer anyways.

Could be PR talk. Announce a price cut now, then expect to have it next week or no one will buy your system until that date of the price cut.

3DS had one at September I believe. Let's see how much that PR statement holds true as holiday nears.

Really? you never played MKWii online? You missed the fuck out son!

Obviously they wouldn't come out and say it then the sales would completely tank (not like they can go much further though) till the price cut happens. If anything they would just announce price cut a few days before it happens.

I am thoroughly amazed at the memory issues gamers have.

Publishers never announce price drops... to do so would kill current sales. They'll deny it right up to the day before they do it.
