I definitely agree that there is the possibility of that. While your point is taken, I don't feel your reaction of painting playstation fans as hypocrites is justified.

I'm not painting playstation fans as hypocrites, there are always sensitive people. I just wanted to say that that's what I read the article as at first and it threw me off how people were praising it early in the thread when in the past month people have been ranting like madmen at Microsoft.

Thing is, calling ps fans hypocrites has been en mode for that same amount of time, so it's getting annoying, especially when most of the reasons for calling them such have been less than sensible. (Like the ideas about how ps4 drm is the same thing as xb1 drm)

I would agree with you if it weren't for the horrendous backlash MS got lately. But if you're encouraging me to put my gloves down, then I accept.

well, thank you. Also afaic, I think xb1 is pretty sweet, and the backlash will only serve to help xbox potential purchases in the long run. The more MS understand how upset people are, the more willing they will be to make changes. xbox fans should be complaining too, not trying to undermine criticism. A lot of people here like to pretend that it's only us, or gaf, or the hardcores who are complaining, but it's rapidly becoming a mainstream issue.

interesting...

Then, really, it should be an issue no matter what, whether in monetizing virtual assets and other creepy monopolistic practices, or DRM. Given OP we're not sure, but the immediate enthusiasm does concern me. It's not about undermining criticism or not, it's about being consistent.

consistent about what? I want to earn points to use towards other things, most people do. This is not what MS is doing.

If this means Sony is going to allow us to sell our digitally purchased games over PSN that is nirvana. Talk about kicking Microsoft when they are down. How pro consumer can you get? That would be the best used game program ever, no more middle man, and direct access to the entire connected user base.

All Sony has to do is require you to be a PS+ member to access the auction, and bam Sony monetizes Used game sales, and avoids abusing the consumer.

I'm not talking about that...

This basically sounds like PSN eBay. You have full control over selling your digital content, and direct access to the exact consumer that is your target market. If that is what this is, this is as anti Microsofts policy as it gets.

Basically, right now I can buy a physical CE edition of a game and sell off any extra content I don't want, Double XP codes, Art Books, Collectable figures, ect., but if I buy the digital version I loose all that value. This looks like it is making the digital and physical copy hold equal value. You can keep it, you can trade it, you can sell it, you can part it out. Ownership of digital content is the end goal of achieveing a viable digital only world.

True, but it also assigns a monetary value to virtual assets which should concern you if the DRM stuff was an issue as of MS' original conference. Don't get me wrong I see the pros, but the cons glare at me twice as strong.
