So everything is on the developer side and the billions being taken out of the market from gamestop? RIght. Sure some you may be right but majority you are not.

Yes, it is on the developer side.

After I buy a game, it is mine. I can sell it if I want and they have no rights to my resale.

They don't want people to sell their games? Then don't make games people don't want to keep.

Also, many people buy new games with the games they sell off. It isn't a situation where it "takes away" from the industry. In many cases it actually helps. If Joe Shmoe buys God of War used and absolutely loves the game, there is a good chance he will buy God of War 2 when it releases.

It works both ways. Unfortunately these publishers think it only works in a way that harms them and they couldn't be more wrong.

They need to start understanding they themselves are a big part of the problem.

This is where I disagree.

So any time publishers don't like something only the gamers should be punished?

When do we aknowledge that they should shoulder much of the blame?

Also, which part do you disagree with? The God of War example? That situation puts the game into as many hands as possible and grants them a better chance to grow their franchise moving foward.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Consumers dictate where a market goes. If people don't buy the XBone due to it's policies then those policies change. Preferably to one that actually does not punish the consumers for the profit margins of publishers.

Completely agree with this. It's the same logic Valve (and supporting publishers) use for Steam sales. Sell your older titles for ridiculously cheap and significant numbers become fans of the franchise/developer. This then spurs the sale of new titles at release.

There's also the fact that selling games back to a store may result in a player having the finances to buy a new title at release.

This bit here I found interesting:

"We're trying to do something pretty big in terms of moving the industry forward for console gaming into the digital world. We believe the digital world is the future, and we believe digital is better," he said.

Any company that says this needs to stop and take a look around them. The consumers decide the market and what the future entails, not Microsoft, Sony or anyone else. If you try to force a "future" trend on consumers prematurely then things aren't going to go well.

I know of 10 people buying it day one. The people with money will go to X1. This will work it self out.

The "people with money"?

You calling me poor?

Anyways, BenVTrigger, a well respected member of VGC and also a Gamestop guy in the know (I think he works as a manager) said today that the current new is having a BIG IMPACT on sales of the XBone.
