Forums - Gaming - Am I over gaming or will it come back?

Maybe try some other fun past time and in 3-5 months see if you have the desire to play some video games. No point in gaming if it is not fun to you.

The last time I played a single player game was in December with PMSS for 3DS. (Got it in November)

Animal Crossing & Luigi's Mansion were 2 of my favorite games of all time but I don't know why I'm hesitant on the 3DS games. I think the 3DS is too small for me but I'm definitely not going to pay for an XL just to hope it makes me like playing games again.

Is New Leaf really that much better than City Folk? I think that's another gripe I have with Nintendo at the moment. I feel as if once I played one game in their series I've played all of them because they are gameplay focused. I like that about them but now I'm starting to think, "if I wanna play Mario Kart I have it on the Wii" or "New Leaf is out!...why don't I just go play City Folk" It's almost as if I'm tired if the old games but the new ones aren't convincing me of being new either.

New Leaf is the largest change to the series yet. Will it be enough, for you? I don't know. But I do know that New Leaf has gotten many great reviews for it being different and changing the formula to the series. (Not by miles, but there is a change.)

If you want to see if gaming still bores you, you'll have to take risks. New Leaf will be a risk.

Yep, the kind of gaming you're talking about has pretty much moves on mobile stuff (no wonder WiiU is already dying). From now on, that's your pick. Move to more complex games or stand with the critter jumping around...

Yes, that's exactly what's wrong with him; the games he like(d) are "crap."

Please, find something else to tell him. That does not seem to be the problem.

Little Big Planet? Without a PS3?...

I used to have a PS3 and LBP was my favorite game on there. It broke about a week after LBP2 came out and I wasn't going to get it fixed or buy another when I mainly played Nintendo games.

Recently, I did consider buying a PS3 again but decided not to in the end.

I have been listening to more music and been watching more movies and stuff recently. I am more active as a person now too. When I do play actual system games every 2 weeks or so, I do have fun doing it. Maybe it's just I get board playing single player games?

Do you play New Leaf on the regular 3DS or the XL? I didn't like Wild World because I felt that the screen was too small for that type of game. I couldn't really see where I was going most of the time. (My eyes are perfectly fine and I don't wear glasses by the way) I also got Kid Icarus for Christmas (I didn't buy it) and haven't touched it yet. Would that be a good game to try?

Kid Icarus is a very different game to play. I say try that before getting Animal Crossing. Even though they are completely different, it should help you to learn what still interests you and what doesn't.

Will do NinPie :)

Reality is that the older you get the less you'll care about games. Unless you work on the industry, you have to focus on other stuff so it makes sense to start losing excitement over new generation game consoles. I am looking forward to getting Xbox One and I will, but the reality is that I will not be buying tons of games and I'll hardly play. That's life in general. Your kids will be excited tho so that's how you'll stay connected.

Sounds about right. Got to diversify your time. Even the best things become boring if that is all one does. Cheers :)
