Would have gone if Smash was available.

naive to think it would be playable.

It's playable at E3

No, it's not. Sakurai himself showed off a very basic alpha of the game to fans in attendance. It is NOT available to play for just anyone.

It's not available to the public but there is an actual playable demo which is what he's refering to. Mine wasn't a counter-commet, it was info.

i just got back. Got there a little before 7, got to play around 8:45, the attendant was nice enough to stay late to try and fit every one in. It was really nice of her. It was a little unorganized. I think there were people playing multiplayer games like 3d mario and kart by themselves. No way was the line going to go get through if you do shit like that. I would get pretty annoyed when people would play zelda. But anyway, got to play 3d mario. After playing i understand why people were dissapointed with it's announcement. It's simply not part of the 3d mario franchise. Which sucks for them. the good news, for them, is that there's GOT to be one in the works. Whats good for me is that i finally have a 3d mario that I enjoy. That was the 1st time i really had fun playing a 3d mario. It's almost like a 3d re-imagining of the new super mario bros. series. The fact the all the characters play different is really cool as well. If i can get a better paying job soon, i may actually buy a system BEFORE a price cut for the 1st time ever. Needless to say it left a good impression :)

Planning on going Saturday with my fiancee. How was the line, King?

there was a decent line

you might want to be early, we got there around a half an hour early and we were pretty much at the front of the line but people kept coming

It pretty much went from the demo unit to the door and the demo unit was towards the back of the store. Some people were getting back in the line. We did leave pretty early so I don't know what the line looked like after we left

I think I might go to it on Saturday but it's a 45 drive...

Bloody hell, lad! I wish I was in your shoes, I would take a 4 hours drive just have a chance to play atleast one of those demos! x_x

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

Couple of my friends drove an hour and a half to go to it.

I am thinking about going again Saturday so try and play some of the other demos, and rake in some more street passes.

Cripes, do I miss road trips... ;_;

It's the journey that counts and the destinations are an icing on the cake! ;)

So I missed the Nintendo Experience, but I did have a chance to visit Nintendo World.

I played three tracks on Mario Kart 8 and my fiancee played The Wind Waker.

Mario Kart 8 looked and played like a dream. You can control your kart with the GamePad, but I was having a little trouble, so I switched to analog control. Wind Waker looked great too :)

Also, and this might mollify some of the 3D World doubters, the attendant at Nintendo World said the most impressive demo he played was 3D World. He said it's a totally different game from the 3DS original and it's amazing.

If anyone decides to go and is feeling particularly generous, could you record gameplay of Mario Kart 8, specifically Toadette? I can't go but would love the footage if it's convenient. :)

It's from a Mexican videogame website, not Toadette though.

Watch it in 1080p!

That was great. The guy using the tablet controller not only won presumably his first match but seemed to dominate it. My point being, that controller configuration would have to be pretty damn good!

I went to the one in Winnipeg yesterday.... The games all looked great!! My roomate played Donkey Kong because everyone else was playing Mario and Zelda. By the time it was our turn in line we had seen so much of those demos. Mario looks like a lot of fun and Zelda is just visually stunning. I played Mario Kart which could go down as the best Mario Kart game since the snes original. It's kinda like Mario Kart meets F-Zero! Unfortunately for the demo they only allowed for motion controls. Using the gamepad as a wheel works well but I'm too old for that shiss.. The rep assured me that the game can be played without motion but for the demo they wanted it to be experienced like this.

I don't go to Best Buy anymore. Though I'd go if they had Smash.

Was thinking the same thing.  Mario Kart would have been fun to play (and the other games).  I don't really care for demos that much.  I'd rather wait for the game to come out.
