Nah, it's pretty cool. Discreet and standard. It will let everyone with a PS4 have a simple mic for chatting. The fact the DualShock 4 has a 1/8 3.5mm jack makes it very universal for any headset, for those who want stereo audio and/or use their own mic. PS eye will also have a mic on it if you prefer ear free.

At first, I was like "What's that? Mono?!?" Then I remember it'll probably block the sound from your game if it was two. I think it's pretty clever when you think about that.

I was going to ask why is a mono headset annoying because I thought about normal headphones just outputting mono sound (because of voices being in the "center" anyway) but then I saw its just 1 earplug.

I hate monoplugs. It is just irritating to hear whatever on just 1 ear. You can get normal in ear headphones for 50 cents why are companies always so "cheap" when it comes to stuff that is almost free.
