That's where Nintendo was (twice?), where Sony was, and where Microsoft is. Many people were anointing them winners of next generation by default. They started to believe their own hype, I think, and took growth in market share as a given. |
Are you saying that can't apply to right now?
Maybe MS is plugging controllers into always-on tacos, but everyone is thinking PS4 is going to win, which is what you mentioned one of the "symptoms" of the third console curse is. (At least I think that's where you were going with it...)
