well if they do lets just hope the rights of the publisher are properly protected and royalties are paid. |
Yeah the publishers will be protected. You wont abe able to sell 20 copies if you buy one. And hopefully they get what they deserve from second hand sales, nothing. Same as everything else that's sold. No one deserves to be payed for the same thing twice. Although if they buy it back and sell it again I can see this method working.

Though Im sure that is what their huge lineup of exclusives is for. To try and bribe the consumer into buying into their model whether people want to or not. |
i can really late to the party in this other thread but i'm just going to link to my post anyways. if MS were to do it like this i'm sure everyone (self included) would be happy with them. instead they choose probably the worst possible solution you could imagine.

MS's bribe might have worked if it wasn't for the fact that sony has a bigger first party and MS doesn't have enough money to buy the entire 3rd party development community. sure they have a few great exclusives but so does everyone else and like last gen 90% of their library will be on sony's machine.
What they should have done is:
1- Make digital games cheaper 50$ for example.
2- Many deals and discounts on Live.
3- Being able to share your downloads on a few consoles.
That way digital will grow by a lot without pissing off people, or restrict some unfortunate people.
I don't think he really said anything there besides pointing out that they consider the portion of people opposing this new direction to be small enough to ignore.

Yeah that would be an infinitly better system no doubt about it.
DRM policies are obviously here to stay then, bad news. I was hoping the backlash would make them reconsider.

There is always retro collecting. I am a pretty big collector myself, but I am yet to come across a collector that has a complete collection of every system/game. It is sort of like collecting Star Wars toys/merchandise .... it would take a lifetime to collect most of it.
Or they can buy a PS4 ... that's what I intend to do.

Retro collecting is awesome. We have 2 great flea markets that have a lot of old games near my house. I also intend to buy a PS4. Preordered on Amazon.
