The Wii U version is definitely not a PS360 port, its development started before Ps360 versions were being worked on.

Approximately how long does it take for most of the major developers to make a game available to another platform (the Wii U specifically) once they decide to do so? Can they do it (in a practical manner) once they have completed developing the game or do they need to factor all the platforms from the beginning of development?

The reason for my question is, it looks like all of the 3rd party games released and announced for the Wii U were already in development at launch or probably before launch. Now that most of these same developers have said they are either not supporting the Wii u until its install base is big enough to make it worth while, how long would it take for 3rd parties to start ramping up games for the Wii U when/if the install base hits the critical mass they are looking for?

Right now it looks like there will be a healthy amount of good games available for the Wi u from August thru Q 1 2014 when combining 1st, 2nd and 3rd party games. But if the 3rd parties have backed off for now, when is that going to hit the wii U, (I assume aprox 1st Q 2014) and how long will it last? fortunately it looks like it will not be a problem for the next 6 to 9 months.

So you hate it when someone criticizes about the Wii U, yet support a Vita criticizer? Talk about double standards.

He wasn't really criticizing the Vita, he was joking. He doesn't really have a thread. And he also is not claiming to "Warn" people of...... hell, I don't even know what the warning is for.

I just found this thread kind of useless.

Not trying to be hateful, let's stop the hate!

Well the Wii U has got the following Multi-platform AAA games confirmed for upcoming release:

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Watch Dogs
Project CARS
Batman: Arkham Origins
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut

Add to that a likely Call of Duty: Ghosts port as well, it aren't that bad. Still way behind the third party offering on the Xbox/PS. But still a lot better than the support the Wii received for AAA third party games. Who to say once the Wii U user base increases that we will see a lot more third party support in future.

And none of them are next-gen exclusives either. So I guess it was easy to port the PS3/360 versions.

To be fair not all of the games listed in the opening post are not really true exclusive to the next generation of consoles either. As a lot of them coming out on the Xbox360/Ps3.

To be fair none of the PC/PS4/XB1 multiplats are coming for the Wii U. And that is worrying.

But aren't most of the those true PS4/XB1 exclusive titles years away from release anyway? Still plenty of time for possible announcements of Wii U releases. Especially if either the sales of the Wii U ownership increases a lot and/or a few third party AAA style game sell really well. With how relativity cheap it is port games, it may only take just a few third party AAA games selling 0.5-1million in sales to see a new influx of PS4/XB1 ports.

I wish Nintendo would have put a bit more power in the Wii U. I think it would have done great, and hopefully one day enough games will be announced that I am actually interested in. X, Bayo 2, SMTxFE, Smash, and Mario Kart 8 are not enough reasons sadly. Ps4 has my money locked already.

And that list will only grow as devs get use to using x86 architecture and dx11 features.

To be fair, there were some Ninty fans swearing up and down about how much support WIi U would get, now that that question has been answered we can kinda put the whole thing to bed.

You forgot the mirror's edge reboot.
