Forums - Website Topics - Who is tired of VGC or wants a better community?

I think the site is fine. People just need to stop taking this site to personal.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

I'm trying to somehow convince myself to stay here as I feel the general community has gone to complete trash and I'm doing my best to bring civilized conversation

That being said the amount of.......enthusiastic fans that do nothing but troll and destroy any meaningful conversation seems at an all time high.

No idea if Ill stay or not but since I'm such a long time member here I almost think I owe it to the community to help out.

This. I've seen numerous threads derailed within mere comments... It's sad. There are also users who hide behind smilies or pics and pretend they're "making a joke". A majority are but some... Not so much.

The fact that some users have the feeling they don't want to be here should be a statement enough though even looking through some of the comments here, people just don't get that.

I'm particularly tired of users who complain and don't contribute to posts that improve the site.

If I were a Microsoft fan, I would embrace the opposition with excitement. There are plenty of angles a Microsoft can take to destroy an obnoxious Xbox hater. A lot of the points against the Xbox One can actually be fairly easily countered imo. Unfortunately, from what I have observed, there's no one up to the challenge of silencing the fools. I'm not sure if its due to lack of energy or lack of argumentative skills. Whatever the case, the opportunity is there for Xbox fans to strike back and even the odds (within the rules, of course).

*rolls eyes*

First off, I believe this goes beyond the X1.  Secondly I believe X1 does have plenty of users who has defended it Jay.

Now I want to clear something up, this thread has nothing to do with X1.  So let's stop with all the fanbase talking.   There is a reason for this thread but not what you are thinking.

The discussion in the thread shifted to a concern about Microsoft fans being unwelcome. I responded to that concern.

As for being tired of VGC as a whole. Obviously I am not since I have posted in this thread. If I were tired of the site, I would leave.

The second part of the statement was to everybody.  I will go back and edit that to make it clear.

First part was to you.  You more so arrogantly posted about yourself rather than talk about Microsoft's fanbase but close enough.

I'm starting to believe people don't actually care about fanboyism on this site but actually care about being on the receiving end of it. So certain kind of community type threads are made as veil to mask the intention at an attempt to limit the negativity by temporarily( as in till your group pulls through and somebody else is on the receiving end) wanting stricter moderation policy.

These past few days have shown the hypocrisy and the negative attitude of certain users. It is getting unbearable now. Can't have a decent constructive discussion here without threads being derailed with all the negativity. E3 was once a time where gamers can enjoy the latest announced games, those days are long gone.

I hope you're not talking about VGC. IIRC I was here during the PS3 reveal back then(not yet a member) and I could tell you this is miles demure compared to the hellish trolling going on back then. Troll bets everywhere betting their VGC dosh like a bigshot. Calling out fans non stop.

Xxain, people want to talk about things they are passionate about and love.  It is hard when many people are here to ruin that for other members.  This is on all ends, not just MSFT.  Im aware of the good and bad users by this point and every fanbase has bad members.

Arrogance? Well, considering I can only tell why I personally am or am not tired of the site, I don't see how its arrogant to give my opinion. But if it makes you feel like a big man to throw sly digs out there, then go right ahead.

I do agree with that.  Nintendo definitely got it right after their e3 direct.  Sony got some, though not as much as Nintendo or Microsoft (you'd be fooling yourself if you think otherwise).  This site has a large userbase of Sony fans, so I suppose that's why.
