Amazon have some idea of how much stock they will get, the launch day is the "pre-order" numbers they have been given to sell a console day 1 to the customer, if its not a launch console then it may or may not be sent day 1 - depending on future stock.


Ohh thats actually a good idea, most companies would just happily take your pre order even if they wernt going to get enough to give you one.

after the microsoft conference, we had people like kowenicki, and that halo avatar guy saying and touting things for the xbox one as if amazon was a victory, now they left vgchartz and decided to go and hide

PS4 is #1, but One is not too far behind. That's pretty much a preview of this generation. I think PS4 will outsell the Xbox about, umm, 2:1. It's not gonna be this massacre people are believing, it's gonna be pretty damn balanced.

Hmm but if the PS4 sells 80million, on a 2x1 scale, the Xbox will only sell 40million - is that not a massacre, its certainly not a balanced number..

Just noticed that the Xbox is at the top, but there are NO GAMES for the One.
So people are pre-ordering just the console, without games...?

I've ordered a PS4 without purchasing any games... still a bit early to order the games imho... console is most important due to stock issues, games can come later.

Yeah, I contradicted myself there.

So, let me think... If I'd have to guess, I'd say PS4 will sell 90 million, and Xbox One will be around... 70-75 million.

Guess i didnt explain very well then.

1. I can pick up games at *ANY* point, I don't have a console yet, so why order games that i can just go to a shop and buy on day of release.
2. Lots of games are coming out both 1st/3rd party, though i am not poor, i want to at least consider what my first games will be.
3. The only issue in ordering right now is hardware. If you want a console day 1, and they are supply constrained, then pre-ordering is best done quickly.

There might be about 6 games day 1 that i want, I am in no rush just yet to pre-order them.

Hopefully that makes sense.
